<p>The Louisiana State Police / Transportation Safety Services (TSS) is comprised of the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE), Mobile Weight Enforcement (MWE), and Towing and Recovery Units (TRU). The primary responsibilities of TSS includes reducing the number and severity of commercial motor vehicle crashes as well as protecting the state's highway infrastructure. TSS also ensures compliance with applicable state and federal regulations governing commercial vehicles, the towing and recovery industry, vehicle storage facilities, and motor vehicle inspection stations. These objectives are accomplished through a program of roadside safety inspections, annual facility inspections, and educational outreach initiatives.</p> <p>The Administrative Program Specialist A is a professional position which receives broad supervision from an Administrative Program Manager 1 and serves as a liaison between commissioned officers conducting compliance inspections, the commercial vehicle industry, and the public. The TSS Administrative Program Specialist A uses independent knowledge of federal and state commercial vehicle regulations along with sound judgement to provide specific and situational guidance and direction to questions and/or complaints from the public regarding the applicability of the state regulations. </p> <p>An ideal candidate should possess the following competencies:</p> <p>Accepting Direction: The ability to be open and willing to follow guidance or instructions.</p> <p>Driving Results: The ability to set and pursue goals, maintain focus amid competing demands, and deliver results.</p> <p>Making Accurate Judgments: The ability to assess options, weigh risks, and make sound decisions using available information and logical reasoning.</p> <p>Acting Decisively: The ability to make timely, confident decisions using sound reason.</p> <p>Adapting to Change: The ability to demonstrate flexibility in thoughts, behaviors, and actions in response to evolving circumstances or unexpected change.</p> <p>Communicating Effectively: The ability to convey information, ideas, and emotions using structured communication methods that promote understanding and engagement.</p> <p>Demonstrating Initiative: The ability to assess situations independently and take proactive steps to address them without being prompted or instructed by others.</p> <p>Displaying Professionalism: The ability to uphold workplace standards through consistent conduct, responsible communication, and consideration for others.</p> <p>Using Data: The ability to collect, analyze, and use data to generate insights and inform decisions.</p> <p> </p> <p>Three years of experience in administrative services; OR</p> <p>Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR</p> <p>A bachelor's degree.</p> <p>EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:</p> <p>Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field.
