<p>Position Summary</p> <p>Under the general supervision of the Health Services Nursing Supervisor, the Nurse Clinician 3 is responsible for providing complex skilled nursing care to patients in the TCI Infirmary. This may include both general population and infirmary settings. This position provides direct care to patients that have unique complex health conditions, or palliative/terminal illnesses that prevent them from residing in the General Population. The Nurse Clinician 3 will follow the nursing process and utilize the Correctional Nursing Standards in their practice. The Nurse Clinician 3 will utilize theoretical and evidence-based knowledge of experiences and responses to collaborate with patients to assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, plan, implement and evaluate care.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>These positions are in pay schedule and range 11-01 with a starting pay of $46.11/hour - $52.86/hour. There is a base $1.00/hour add-on for all hours worked. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. The sign-on bonus will be paid in two installments: $1500 on the first paycheck and $1500 with the paycheck for the pay period in which the employee attains permanent status (usually 1 year). (UW System employment isn't disqualifying.) To receive the bonus, a candidate must sign an agreement indicating they will remain in the occupational area for one year. If the candidate leaves prior to completing the one year, they may be required to reimburse the initial payment.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.</p> <p>The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.</p> <p>The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.</p> <p>This position is scheduled for three 12 hour shifts per week working 5:45 PM - 6:15 AM. The schedule is three days per week, working every third weekend.</p> <p>This position has physical requirements, including but not limited to: standing, pushing/pulling, lifting/carrying, kneeling, bending, etc.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Special Requirement:</p> <p>Must possess and maintain an active unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin or another state participating in the Nurse Licensure Compact.</p> <p>In addition to the special requirement, minimally qualified applicants will have experience:</p> <p>Treating patient conditions with appropriate utilization of nursing protocols</p> <p>Developing, refining, and revising a patient plan of care utilizing continuous patient assessment and evaluation</p> <p>Providing healthcare education to patients and staff</p> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>To apply, click on "Apply for Job" to start the application process.
