The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a love of literature and language in students, while promoting critical thinking and effective communication skills.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement a comprehensive English curriculum that aligns with state standards and district goals. </li><li>Create engaging lesson plans that incorporate best instructional practices, including differentiated instruction, collaborative learning, and technology integration. </li><li>Teach various aspects of English language arts, including literature, writing, grammar, and vocabulary. </li><li>Foster a classroom environment that is welcoming, respectful, and supportive of all students, promoting equity and inclusion. </li><li>Assess and evaluate students' progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth. </li><li>Encourage students to think critically and express themselves effectively through written and oral communication. </li><li>Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community to support student learning and create opportunities for students to showcase their work. </li><li>Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in English education. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field. </li><li>Valid Connecticut teaching certification: English, 4-12 (015) </li><li>Experience teaching English. </li><li>Strong knowledge of adolescent development and instructional strategies for secondary education. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment. </li></ul>
