Miami Transplant Institute has been doing liver transplants for almost 50 years with more than 4,000 livers since 1988. We perform more than 125 liver transplants a year, one of the highest volumes in the country. Most importantly, our programs for both children and adults consistently rank among the nation's best in terms of patient outcomes.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Transplant Quality Administrative Coordinator will assist the Compliance Officer and Quality Officer in the management of the day-to-day operations for the Quality division of the Miami Transplant Institute. Requires understanding and navigation of multiple databases used to review and extract information. Databases used are as follows Transplant EMR, JMH CERNER, and the Federal Database of Organ Offers UNET. Has high level of understanding of Excel, Word, and Power Point and can create documents as requested. Provides administrative and analytical support and review as well as management of daily compliance monitoring. Requires an understanding of specific Federal compliance regulations. Responsible for the organization of and management of the MTI Quality Assurance Meeting. Interacts with various service lines routinely to obtain specific documentation as required for patient care or per compliance monitoring and auditing processes.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Obtains daily transplant removals for reason of transplant and all other reasons, from Federal Database. Extracts and confirms appropriate allocation per match runs. </li><li>Provides detailed review of removals. </li><li>Identifies any anomalies in data, conducts preliminary investigation, and refers issues to Associate Dir as appropriate. </li><li>Utilizes judgment is when to refer issues to Associate Dir or other members of the management team. </li><li>Documents data accurately and in appropriate spreadsheets. </li><li>Compiles data into required format for analysis. </li><li>Log of daily removals provided to JMH CFO. </li><li>Conducts audits of peri-operative data of all transplant proceedings for required data elements to ensure compliance with OPTN and CMS regulations. </li><li>Extracts multiple data points for quality and improvement analysis in addition to data elements for compliance. </li><li>Audits consist of multiple data points to analyze compliance including but not limited to ABO verification, ischemic times, operative times, vessel use, and blood product usage. </li><li>Specific data point for extraction and analysis may vary depending on regulatory requirements. </li><li>Conducts audits of medical records including documentation by multidisciplinary team members, and physicians and surgeons, to assess compliance with OPTN, CMS, and JHS rules, regulations and policies. </li><li>Extracts multiple data points for quality and improvement analysis in addition to data elements for compliance. </li><li>Specific data point for extraction and analysis may vary depending on regulatory requirements. </li><li>Compiles multiple data reports in varying formats for quality, financial, regulatory, and strategic purposes both to MTI and JHS departments. </li><li>These include run charts, pie charts, bar graphs, including representing basic to moderately complex statistical analysis. </li><li>Conducts additional data extraction of specific data points as identified by the Quality team to analyze performance metrics of all solid organ transplant programs. </li><li>Specific data points may vary depending on quality metrics, but include data representing the % of inactive listings on each organ waiting list, analysis of waiting list mortality, compliance with PHS high risk donor policies, length of stay analysis, and other data points as needed. </li><li>Provides data to the JHS Executive Dashboard and Organ Specific Quality Dashboards. </li><li>Completes data analysis for special projects or issues as identified by the MTI leadership. </li><li>Assists the Quality Resource Team during regulatory surveys and audits. </li><li>Provides back-up administrative support to the Associate Director as needed to ensure efficient daily operations especially related to departmental quality related meetings. </li><li>Job descriptions are not intended, and should not be construed, to be exhaustive lists of all responsibilities, skills, efforts or working conditions associated with a job. </li><li>Management reserves the right to revise duties as needed. </li><li>Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise). </li><li>Performs all other related job duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Generally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience. </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma is required. </li></ul> <p>Credentials</p> <ul> <li>Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty. </li></ul>
