<p>Secretary to Department Head/Human Resources</p> <p>Position Type:</p> <p>Secretarial/Clerical</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>7/31/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Administration Building</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>until filled</p> <p>SALARY: $18.93 -$23.43 based on experience</p> <p>HOURS: 8 hours/day, Monday--Friday, 12 months/year</p> <p>Position: Secretary to Department Head</p> <p>Contract: 12 months</p> <p>Immediate Supervisor: Department Head</p> <p>Primary Evaluator for the following positions: Department Head</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Meet clerical testing requirements</p> </li><li> <p>High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)</p> </li><li> <p>Must meet District hiring requirements</p> </li><li> <p>Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find</p> </li><li> <p>EMIS knowledge and any other District report initiatives, such as DA</p> </li></ul> <p>GENERAL DESCRIPTION:</p> <ul> <li>Provide clerical support for the efficient and effective operation of the school administrative offices. Assist where appropriate. </li></ul> <p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assist Department Head</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in the maintenance of scheduled appointments, conferences, and interviews for department head</p> </li><li> <p>Act as liaison for the District</p> </li><li> <p>Process requisitions</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain miscellaneous records</p> </li><li> <p>Utilize emergency procedure knowledge and notify appropriate persons</p> </li><li> <p>Is punctual and prepared for immediate assumption of duties upon arrival at school</p> </li><li> <p>Utilize time appropriately and maintain good attendance</p> </li><li> <p>Proactively address potential problem areas to ensure timely completion of tasks</p> </li><li> <p>Create or assist in the development of procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Order necessary department and/or building supplies</p> </li><li> <p>Receive various payments, fees, etc., and deposit monies</p> </li><li> <p>Stay current with Board guidelines and policies</p> </li><li> <p>Follow the District safety and regulatory compliance policy, procedures, and guidelines</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to generate correspondence independently</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to operate all applicable office equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work effectively with others</p> </li><li> <p>Effective communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent computer/keyboarding skills</p> </li><li> <p>Organizational and problem-solving skills</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to prioritize to ensure completion of the task</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Head</p> </li></ul> <p>Revised 11/2020</p> <p>Applicants should have completed the twelfth grade with considerable paid secretarial experience. Applicants must have the ability to type accurately from clear copy and have considerable knowledge of computers. Applicants will need to pass the clerical testing requirements. All internal applicants meeting the Board and Union requirements will be offered an interview.</p>
