Must have a current driver's license, reliable transportation and willingness to travel between buildings.</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>Responsible for educational leadership for assigned region. Monitor daily operations in assigned classrooms including the supervision and mentoring of teachers and assistant teachers.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Adhere to agency policies and procedures including Head Start Performance Standards and state regulations. </li><li>Act as a liaison between administration and districts as well as between administration and classroom staff by building partnerships (e.g., Districts, Head Start departments) using and sharing data with stakeholders (e.g. classroom teams, HS departments, districts and community agencies). </li><li>Ensures all staff follow protocols (e.g. chain of command, confidentiality) when communicating with others in the program, families, and outside agencies. It is essential that all staff comply with confidentiality policies. </li><li>Employs a culturally competent and flexible approach when working with those from various cultures by acknowledging, accepting, and accommodating differences whenever possible. </li><li>Oversee and respond to monitoring to ensure preschool rules, state licensing standards, and Head Start performance standards comply and support staffs' understanding and implementation of them. </li><li>Participate and support inter-agency partnerships by ensuring continuity of services delivered to children and families </li><li>Facilitate productive relationships within classroom teams by creating an environment that fosters and professional growth. </li><li>Facilitate staffs', families', and partners' acceptance of agency decisions and advice by positively presenting decisions, explaining the rationale, and openly addressing questions and concerns. </li><li>Actively participate in Education Field Supervisor meetings and agency events. </li><li>Conduct classroom observations by effectively using staff observation tools to create reports, discuss results and growth opportunities with staff and share data with other program leaders. </li><li>Supervise four to seven preschool classrooms for overall daily operations which may include home based educators. </li><li>Responsible for monitoring implementation of curriculum including child appropriate individualization of lesson plans and use of individualization strategies in the classroom, providing coaching to teachers as needed. </li><li>Monitor completion and accuracy of educational screenings and assessments (Teaching Strategies Gold, Brigance). </li><li>Actively keep abreast of current trends, issues and research in early childhood education, integrating relevant information in work with classroom teams. </li><li>Promote staff development by meeting regularly with individual staff using reflective supervision strategies. </li><li>Evaluate staff using agency provided Performance Management Systems. </li><li>Actively participate in all aspects of the RTI and referral process with other professionals. </li><li>Provide teachers with materials and resources needed to promote the home school connection and monitor completion. </li><li>Monitor, observe and provide reflective feedback on observations in classrooms to ensure Developmentally Appropriate Practice and Positive Behavior Supports are implemented at each classroom site. </li><li>Ensure classroom practices, materials, and activities reflect the children in the classroom. </li><li>Acquire classroom substitutes as needed and assume responsibility of the Head Teacher or Assistant Teacher in his/her absence if a substitute is not available. </li><li>Facilitate collaboration by using approved modes of communication in a timely, effective manner. </li><li>Act as a liaison for HCESC by communicating agency philosophies, mission, and services to staff, families, and the community and by supporting staff to do the same. </li><li>Demonstrate respect for others by sharing information objectively and non-judgmentally and adjusting verbal/written communication strategies for different audiences. </li><li>Support collaborative, productive working environments by promoting shared responsibility for action steps in team decision making. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY AND ADA STATEMENT:</p> <p>The Hamilton County Educational Service Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer and endeavors to provide the highest quality service through employing professionals selected for their competence and expertise.
