Join our team and be part of a collaborative environment where your work drives meaningful global impact.</p> <p>The Nylon Manufacturing Engineer has the responsibility for maintaining all aspects, both routine and non-routine, of his/her respective area of responsibility (i.e. Continuous Polymerizers, Solution Prep, Therminol, and Pump and Pack Shops) located in the Nylon Plant. The Manufacturing Engineer will coordinate operations to meet all safety, quality, reliability, and schedule production targets.</p> <p>TARGETED OUTCOMES</p> <ul> <li>The safe operation of process equipment is paramount. All safety rules and procedures will be followed at all times. </li><li>All personnel will actively participate in an Absolute Zero safety culture, Ascend to Entitlement (A2E), and Perfect Polymer Quality culture as these are the guiding principles for everyday activities. </li><li>Coordinate production to meet SIOP. </li><li>Ensure quality procedures are followed at all times. </li><li>Improve OEE through A2E initiatives. </li></ul> <p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>ESSH</p> <ul> <li>Support area compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards by all manufacturing operations and all Operations Team members. </li><li>Demonstrate leadership for the area safety pro-activity process through active participation in the Safety Process. Support the active participation of all Operations Team members in the Safety Process. </li><li>Ensure the timely and thorough response to ESSH deviations. </li><li>Monitor and guide any special circumstances relative to area ESSH issues (including permit approval, area/site/corporate/regulatory audit interface, or unusual work, etc.). </li></ul> <p>Quality/Customer Satisfaction</p> <ul> <li>Monitor and support operations performance to satisfy quality/customer requirements. </li><li>Provide adequate and effective communications to Operations Team concerning customer requirements. </li><li>Monitor and support Operations Team compliance with quality standards set in Quality System. </li><li>Provide timely and effective response to quality deviations (including customer complaints) including communications to Operations Team. </li><li>Work with Process/Technology Team and Operations Team members to improve product quality (process, procedural, and organizational improvements, etc.). </li></ul> <p>Cost Management</p> <ul> <li>Monitor Operations cost performance including raw material yields, utility usage, labor costs, and supplies, etc. Investigate and resolve variances. </li><li>Participate in the closing process, and provide Operations input to ensure compliance with cost management expectations. </li><li>Support the development of Operations budget. </li><li>Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities. Participate in the development of the area Cost Reduction Plan. </li></ul> <p>Operations</p> <ul> <li>Support of operators in execution of the Production Plan. Communicate the Production Plan to the Operations Team. Participate in area operations meetings. </li><li>Ensure consistent and effective communications between the Operations Team and other area teams (Maintenance, etc.) to allow for the successful execution of the Production Plan. </li></ul> <p>Process Improvement</p> <ul> <li>Participate in the development of facilities/process improvement projects to ensure effective Operations input. </li><li>Analyze process performance data (SPC, AEM, etc.) to identify process improvement opportunities. </li></ul> <p>People</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate clear and consistent expectations (job performance, professionalism, work ethic, interpersonal relationships, etc.) for all Operations Team members. </li><li>Support adequate and effective skills of and training for all Operations Team members. </li><li>Support team dynamics within the Operations Team and with other supporting functions </li><li>Participate in the selection process for any new Operations Team members. </li><li>Serves as coach and provides direction for Operations. </li><li>Achieves results primarily through the direction and guidance of Operations Team members. </li><li>Frequent interface with other functions both within the site and other business functions, including business management, to gain support for Operations Team needs. </li><li>Responsible for routinely communicating Operations Team performance within the area. </li></ul> <p>Misc.</p> <ul> <li>Submit maintenance work notifications as needed. </li><li>Serve as back-up for the Production Manager. </li></ul> <p>REPORTS TO</p> <p>Nylon CP Production Manager</p> <p>TEAM</p> <ul> <li>4 - CP Shift Supervisors </li><li>1 - CP Unit Training Coordinator </li><li>2 - Production Supervisors </li><li>4 - CP Manufacturing Engineers </li><li>1 - CP Manufacturing Advisor </li><li>1 - CP Production Manager </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>2-year industrial manufacturing experience </li></ul> <p>DESIRED CERTIFICATION</p> <ul> <li>BS - Chemical Engineering </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of area, site, corporate, and regulatory ESSH requirements - used to ensure compliance with same. </li><li>Knowledge of quality systems (ISO/TS 16949) and requirements - used to ensure consistency of operations within the established quality system guidelines. </li><li>Knowledge of and experience with effective written and oral communication - used to achieve effective interactions with area team members and other business functions. </li></ul> <p>At Ascend Performance Materials, we value transparency and fairness in our hiring process.
