<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Under general supervision of the Warden will be responsible for the all contraband interdiction efforts and the gathering of correctional intelligence.</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts routine, unannounced, and/or pre-scheduled searches and shakedowns of inmates, living areas, grounds, and other areas.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists the agency search team, special operations K-9 unit, and Office of Inspector General K-9 teams while they are onsite.</p> </li><li> <p>Be knowledgeable of the logging and accountability process of contraband items.</p> </li><li> <p>Completes necessary training to perform drug testing of all inmates and confiscated drugs.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures that all policies, rules, and regulations pertaining to the chain of custody are followed and that all evidence/contraband confiscated is logged in on the "unauthorized property log".</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts at least monthly inspections/searches of all roof tops for weapons/contraband.</p> </li><li> <p>Gathers information from institutional staff and inmates concerning possible contraband violations.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for any other duties assigned by the Warden.</p> </li></ul> <p>Must successfully complete eight (8) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.</p> <p>Questions regarding the application process, this job posting or any other postings with the SCDC should be directed to:</p> <p>Recruiting and Employment Services</p> <p>(803) 896-1649</p> <p>Employment@doc.sc.gov</p> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:</p> <p>A high school diploma and relevant experience.
