<p>Chatham County Parks and Recreation Department has an opening for a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee construction, maintenance, and drainage work, providing daily supervision and guidance to work crews. If you have at least three years of experience in construction and/or maintenance, including supervisory experience, and are ready to take on a leadership role, apply now to join our team.</p> <p>Under the direction of a Maintenance Superintendent, you will </p> <ul> <li>Provide daily supervision, guidance, and instruction to one or more work crews performing construction, maintenance, or drainage work.  </li><li>Assist in monitoring work progress and training crew members.  </li><li>Operate light, medium, and heavy-weight equipment.  </li><li>Be assigned to the Critical Work Force Category 2, and you must be able to be on call on a 24-hour basis.  </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li><li>High School Diploma or GED, and  </li><li>At least three (3) years of experience in construction and/or maintenance work, including supervisory experience and experience operating medium and heavy equipment; or  </li><li>Any equivalent combination of training and experience.  </li><li>Must possess or be able to obtain a Georgia Commercial Pesticide Applicator License in Category 24 Ornamental and Turf within six (6) months of employment.  </li><li>Must possess or be able to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver's License within one (1) year of employment.  </li><li>Must provide and wear approved steel toe protective footwear during regular working hours. </li></ul>
