<p>Sanitary Engineer</p> <p>Wastewater Plant Operator (Full-Time)</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>Responsible for the operation, maintenance, monitoring, and reporting functions of a wastewater treatment plant to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory standards, including OEPA requirements.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <p>Plant Operations</p> <ul> <li>Operate wastewater treatment facilities including bar screens, lift stations, and primary, secondary, and tertiary treatment processes. </li><li>Monitor and control filters, activated sludge systems, chlorination systems, and sludge digestion processes. </li><li>Adjust flow patterns and treatment processes to maintain optimal plant performance. </li><li>Clean screening devices, transfer sludges, backwash filters, add chemicals, and replace chlorinator tanks. </li><li>Make operational adjustments as necessary to meet regulatory and effluent quality standards. </li></ul> <p>Maintenance & Repairs</p> <ul> <li>Perform preventive maintenance on plant equipment, including lubricating moving parts, adjusting and replacing packing, and removing/replacing worn components. </li><li>Repair and maintain chemical feed systems and other treatment plant equipment. </li><li>Assist in operation and repair of other department equipment as needed. </li></ul> <p>Laboratory & Testing</p> <ul> <li>Conduct daily chemical tests including settleable solids, pH, chlorine residual, suspended solids, ammonia, and turbidity. </li><li>Perform routine laboratory and biological testing on influent and effluent samples to determine treatment effectiveness and compliance. </li></ul> <p>Documentation & Reporting</p> <ul> <li>Maintain accurate plant operation records. </li><li>Prepare daily and monthly reports detailing test results, inspections, and operational data. </li><li>Respond to routine telephone inquiries and direct non-routine matters to appropriate personnel. </li><li>Continuously study and review treatment plant operations to maintain and improve performance. </li></ul> <p>Bargaining Unit Position.</p> <p>Rate:</p> <p>Start: $25.24 / One Year: $26.27</p> <p>Additional hourly rate: $0.60/hr for Second Shift, $0.70/hr for Third Shift, and $1.50/hr for Weekend Shifts</p> <p>Shifts:</p> <p>4:00 PM - 12:00 Midnight: Additional sixty cents ($0.60) per hour</p> <p>12:00 Midnight - 8:00 AM: Additional seventy cents ($0.70) per hour</p> <p>Minimum Position Requirements:</p> <ol> <li> <p>High School Diploma or GED</p> </li><li> <p>Must obtain Ohio EPA Class I Wastewater License within two (2) years of employment</p> </li><li> <p>Valid Ohio Driver's License, clean driving record and proof of adequate vehicle insurance</p> </li></ol> <p>Benefits:</p> <p>Paid sick time, 12 paid holidays, vacation accrual, insurance (medical, dental, vision, disability, life), OPERS pension.</p> <p>Please email resumes to ewalter@medinacounty.gov or mail them to:</p> <p>Medina County Sanitary Engineer Attn: Emily Walter 791 W.
