<p>Position Information</p> <p>Hiring Manager:</p> <p>Senior Controller</p> <p>Department:</p> <p>Internal Accounting</p> <p>Department Overview</p> <p>The Internal Accounting ("IA") Department is responsible for the financial and tax reporting of Firm leadership investment portfolios. Its goal is to provide reliable and timely information enhancing leadership's ability to make investment decisions. Critical functions within the IA Department include cash management, business and accounting records maintenance and</p> <p>tax / estate planning. The IA Department collaborates closely with Firm leadership, Executive Administration, Strategic Accounting & Finance, Treasury and Tax to deliver information that meets or exceeds the high standards of the Firm.</p> <p>Position Responsibilities</p> <p>The Senior Staff Associate will be responsible for managing cash-related activities and accounts payable functions. This role requires a professional, dependable individual with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage several requests simultaneously to meet tight deadlines.</p> <p>Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p> <p>Cash Management & Treasury Operations</p> <ul> <li>Monitor daily cash and loan balances across all entities to ensure sufficient liquidity and prevent negative balances </li><li>Provide daily cash position updates to senior management </li><li>Optimize interest income by managing idle cash and recommending short-term investment strategies </li><li>Maintain cash flow projection report which includes all recurring and future transactions. Set up calendaring of any new reoccurring transactions </li><li>Initiate internal and external wire transfers in accordance with established protocols. </li><li>Process payroll for household employees </li><li>Collaborate with Operations, Treasury, and banking partners to manage daily cash positions </li><li>Open, close, and maintain bank accounts, ensuring proper documentation and compliance </li><li>Establish and maintain strong relationships with banking institutions to support operational needs and strategic initiatives </li><li>Monitoring credit cards including credit availability, expense analysis (medical, charitable, etc.) and timely payments </li><li>Weekly deposit of checks at local bank branches </li><li>Support financial reporting processes with accurate documentation and reconciliations </li></ul> <p>Accounts Payable (A/P) Management</p> <ul> <li>Manage the end-to-end A/P process, including invoice logging, coding, and timely entry into bill.com and accounting systems </li><li>Cut checks and process payments in accordance with internal controls and approval workflows </li><li>Set up transactions for approval and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures </li><li>Create efficiencies in the A/P process through automation, process improvement, and technology adoption </li><li>Collaboration & Communication </li><li>Foster strong working relationships with other Internal Accounting team members, Strategic Accounting & Finance (SAF), and other departments across Golub Capital </li><li>Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency in treasury and A/P activities </li><li>Be proactive in asking the right questions to achieve high-quality results and continuous improvement </li></ul> <p>Compliance & Controls</p> <ul> <li>Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements </li><li>Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive financial information </li></ul> <p>Candidate Requirements</p> <p>Qualifications & Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics </li><li>5+ years of relevant experience in the financial services industry </li><li>Understanding of and sensitivity to confidential information. </li><li>Superb written and verbal communication skills </li><li>Comfort with and prior experience in a fast paced and high growth environment - candidate should possess excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous projects at a time and prioritize as appropriate </li><li>Highly meticulous, detail oriented and process driven </li><li>Takes initiative with a strong emphasis on a team-orientated mentality </li><li>Proficiency in Excel and Word </li><li>Experience with Bill.com is a plus </li><li>Knowledge of Workday is a plus </li><li>Enthusiastic about working in office and creating a Gold Standard hybrid work culture </li></ul> <p>Critical Competencies for Success</p> <p>Our Gold Standards Model defines key behaviors and competencies across 4 dimensions: Leadership, Achieving Results, Personal Effectiveness and Thinking Critically. Monitors industry trends and changes and recognizes their relevancy and implications. </li><li>Technical Communication and Documentation: Documents and communicates technical processes and procedures in area of specialty to stakeholders. Adapts the level of detail and specificity based on the needs of the intended audience. </li></ul> <p>Compensation and Benefits</p> <p>For New York Only: It is expected that the base salary range for this position will be $115,000 to $134,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as skills, experiences and qualifications for the role. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial and / or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation, sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
