<p>Kforce has a client that is seeking a DevOps Engineer in the Salt Lake City, UT area for hybrid schedule long-term contract position.</p> <p>Roles/Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Cross and merge the barriers that exist between software development, testing and operations teams while keeping existing networks in mind as they design, plan and test </li><li>Project management, best practices, and workflows; Tools such as JIRA, GitHub, AWS DevOps </li></ul> <p>Assist developers in troubleshooting:</p> <ul> <li>Applications </li><li>Migrations </li><li>Conversions </li><li>Deployments/publications </li><li>Additional skills beyond system administrator </li></ul> <p>Security roles:</p> <ul> <li>Enforcing governance and best practices through security guardrails </li><li>Adhere to all company security definitions </li><li>Evaluate logs </li><li>Follow specific procedures and document for knowledge transfer </li><li>Work in conjunction with like-minded departments and closely with developers and other DevOps personnel throughout the company to successfully deploy applications and ensure consistent and repeatable practices </li><li>Collaborate with software developers, system operators and other IT staff members to manage code releases and cloud infrastructure </li><li>Use leadership skills to team build and train others by being the example through showing self-motivation, professionalism, and adaptability to change </li><li>DevOps will require additional skills beyond system administrator </li><li>Work with developers to understand workflows, identify resources, system requirements, create Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts to provision the resources, and create automated CI/CD pipelines, across all environments </li><li>Work closely with Developers, Sys Admins, and Cloud Architects on best practices </li><li>Provision resources in cloud environments </li><li>Maintain and troubleshoot the health of applications and infrastructure </li><li>Build and maintain consistent environments* Minimum of 5 years designing and maintaining technical infrastructure </li><li>Experience with transitioning monolithic application to service oriented architectures </li><li>Enterprise Java experience </li><li>Must have scripting knowledge to build and maintain infrastructure as code (Terraform, BASH, Cloud Formation, Python) </li><li>Familiar with building Docker containers and creating deployment pipelines for multiple environments </li><li>20% - Cost </li><li>35% - Duration and Quality of experience as Technical Infrastructure </li><li>35% - Duration and Quality of experience transforming systems into Service Oriented Architecture </li><li>10% - Experience with an eligibility and enrollment system, or financial package such as collections system </li></ul>
