Work may involve the</p> <p>performance of any maintenance duty involving the cleaning of buildings, offices, restrooms, hallways and stairwells, windows, etc.</p> <p>SALARY: $19.82 per hour</p> <p>HOURS: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm</p> <p>REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <ol> <li> <p>General knowledge of cleaning skills in institutional buildings.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of the use, care and handling of commercial cleaning chemicals and solvents.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to understand warning labels and precautionary information.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge and ability to operate commercial cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners and carpet fluid extractors.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working conditions and relationships with superiors, community, and County Board officials, other elected or appointed officials.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to deal fairly and exercise good judgment.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to maintain trust.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, fellow workers, and the general public.</p> </li></ol> <p>EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION/LICENSES:</p> <ol> <li> <p>No previous experience/education required.</p> </li><li> <p>Must become OSHA certified in all applicable areas after becoming employed.</p> </li><li> <p>Must possess a valid driver's license</p> </li></ol> <p>OSHA NOTICE:</p> <p>This position has been determined to be a MODERATE exposure risk to "biohazards" associated with blood-borne pathogens HIV(AIDS), HBV (hepatitis B) virus, airborne transmissions of TB (tuberculosis), and other infectious diseases. Members are advised that exposure to a "biohazard" may result in severe illness or death. Members are required by Department policy to use</p> <p>protective equipment and clothing. Inoculation may be required to prevent or treat exposures to "biohazards".</p> <p>ELEMENTS OF CONTACT:</p> <p>Personal contact with any individual of the public, an inmate, or arrestee is a minimal</p> <p>occurrence. Hand-to-hand exchanges and face-to-face verbal communications between the</p> <p>member and the public are seldom required. In this position, contact with blood, body fluids, or other medical hazards are extremely uncommon.
