This role requires expertise in billing guidelines, customer service, and appeals processes, as well as strong interpersonal and technical skills.</p> <p>In this role, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Accurately process inpatient and outpatient claims to third-party payers, adhering to all mandated billing guidelines. </li><li>Ensure compliance with Timely Filing guidelines and maintain quality control for paper claims. </li><li>Handle tracers, denials, and related correspondence, including initiating appeals and drafting appeal letters addressing coding issues. </li><li>Utilize patient accounting systems to perform all required billing and account-related tasks. </li><li>Provide exceptional customer service, addressing and resolving patient concerns in a professional manner. </li><li>Manage a high volume of incoming customer service calls in a call-center environment. </li><li>Support business office functions with general knowledge and expertise. </li><li>Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office and other programs as required by management. </li></ul> <p>Salary Range: $29.04 - $38.29 Hourly</p> <p>Job Qualifications</p> <p>Press space or enter keys to toggle section visibility</p> <p>We're seeking detail-oriented, self-directed professional with:</p> <ul> <li>Required minimum two years of recent medical billing experience in physicians' office or clinic with Medi-Cal, Medicare, Managed Care, and PPO insurances. Pathology billing experience highly preferred </li><li>Detailed knowledge of medical terminology and its applications </li><li>Skill in reading correspondence, charged documents, EOB's and all other insurance forms </li><li>Knowledge of on-line registration procedures including payor data and financial classes </li><li>Frequent use of computer, fax, copier, printer, calculator, telephone, other general office appliances </li><li>Knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel software </li></ul>
