<p>How to Apply</p> <p>This is a 1 year temporary position starting March 2026 with possibility of extension through August 2027 depending upon funding.</p> <p>Candidates should submit the following as one document:</p> <ul> <li>Cover Letter / Letter of Interest </li><li>Resume </li></ul> <p>In order for the Career Portal system to accept a cover letter, please include this as a page of your resume document.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Seeking a Research Assistant/Full Stack Developer for a paid opportunity as a temporary employee to assist and support the development of a centralized clinical data system and dashboard for the University of Michigan Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Research program.</p> <p>This role will focus on building and maintaining a full stack application that integrates data from multiple sources into a structured backend and user-facing dashboard. The selected candidate will work closely with the program?s UX lead to translate Figma wireframes and prototypes into functional, maintainable code.</p> <p>Responsibilities*</p> <ul> <li>Develop and maintain a centralized dashboard integrating data from multiple internal and external sources </li><li>Implement backend data structures, business logic, and validation processes </li><li>Translate Figma wireframes and prototypes into functional frontend interfaces </li><li>Build and maintain ETL workflows for structured and semi-structured data </li><li>Support future integration with healthcare systems such as Epic </li><li>Ensure data quality, consistency, and long-term maintainability </li><li>Participate in stakeholder interviews and collaborative workshops to identify friction points and translate them into technical solutions </li><li>Iterate on features as the system evolves </li><li>Document architecture, data flows, and development decisions </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications*</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in Python and SQL </li><li>Working knowledge of JavaScript for frontend development </li><li>Familiarity with R for research or data validation workflows </li><li>Experience building or contributing to full stack applications </li><li>Understanding of APIs and data integration principles </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications*</p> <ul> <li>Experience working with healthcare or clinical data </li><li>Familiarity with Epic or other EHR systems </li><li>Experience implementing UI designs from Figma or similar tools </li><li>Interest in UX, human-centered design, or product thinking </li><li>Comfort working in evolving systems with incomplete specifications </li></ul> <p>Modes of Work</p> <p>Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
