<p>Position Title: Placement Services (PS) Manager</p> <p>Classification: Exempt, Full-time</p> <p>Reports To: Center Director</p> <p>Pay: $59,000.00 - $60,486.00</p> <p>Position Description</p> <p>About Dayton Job Corps</p> <p>Job Corps' national mission is to educate and train highly motivated young people, ages 16-24, for successful careers in the nation's fastest-growing industries. Here at Dayton Job Corps Center, we support their mission by teaching eligible young people the skills they need to become employable and independent, placing them in meaningful jobs or further education. Students here have access to room and board while they learn skills in specific training areas for up to three years. The program helps them to complete their high school education, trains them for meaningful careers, provides transitional support services, and assists them with obtaining employment. Job Corps graduates either enter the workforce or an apprenticeship, go on to higher education, or join the military.</p> <p>Purpose</p> <p>Reports to the Center Director. Responsible for placement services and career transition activities within contractual goals. Responsible for the daily supervision of the assigned placement services staff.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li> <p>Screens potential new Placement Services hires and makes recommendations for hire to the Center Director and HR Manager</p> </li><li> <p>Provides direction to staff and monitors staff performance.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides support (i.e., training, monitoring) by telephone, video conferencing, and both announced and unannounced visits.</p> </li><li> <p>Complies with all management, corporate, and government directives and operating procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for quality control on assigned contracts.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures that program activity and billing goals are met.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinates and monitors job-development, employment skills training, and career-development functions.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs CTS when required within the assigned territory.</p> </li><li> <p>Establishes personal contact with organizations and prospective employers.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains accountability of staff and property; adheres to safety practices and performs safety inspections in areas of responsibility.</p> </li><li> <p>Acts as a responsible custodian for assigned contract property.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains an active agency and organization referral source list and prospective employer list.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinates the provision of classes for employment skills training on interview techniques, job applications, résumé preparation, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains good working relationship with Department of Labor (DOL) Regional Office, line staff, and corporate management.</p> </li><li> <p>Submits reports on a timely basis.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in the development and is responsible for implementing and monitoring an effective incentive plan for each assigned contract, including goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains accountability of property, adheres to safety practices, and performs safety inspections in areas of responsibility.</p> </li><li> <p>Able to maintain a 75% or higher on the employee scorecard.</p> </li></ul> <p>Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.</p> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Required Education & Experience</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, social science, communications, counseling, education, or closely related field plus two years of related supervisory experience; Or associate's degree in human services, psychology, social science, communications, counseling, education, or closely related field</p> </li><li> <p>Four years of related supervisory experience</p> </li></ul> <p>Certifications/Competencies</p> <ul> <li> <p>Knowledge of the Job Corps program preferred but not required</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to ensure contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to promote the CSS by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students when necessary, and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong organizational skills</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Computer proficiency</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to interact with individuals from economically disadvantaged and socially diverse backgrounds required</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to function as a liaison and interact with private and public agencies, employees, employers, and Job Corps participants</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of existing federal, state, and local employment legislation governing the hiring of employees.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum Eligibility Qualifications</p> <p>If the position requires driving, a valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record is required</p> <p>I-9 documentation required to verify authorization to work in the United States</p> <p>Successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check and drug test.</p> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>Other Duties</p> <p>This job description is not a comprehensive listing of all duties or responsibilities that are required for this position and may be updated.
