<p>Harvey Conservation Corps 2025 Part-Time</p> <p>Job Description Position: Harvey Conservation Corps Member Job Type: Full-Time Location: Harvey, IL Schedule: Monday-Friday 9a-5p (Availability on the Weekends, some flexible assignments) Salary: $25000 Living Stipend (Around $14.75 Hour) Additional Benefits: Discounted Health Insurance, Educational Segal Award awarded who complete their AmeriCorps hours; Childcare assistance if eligible, Fire Training, and Commercial Pesticide Certification Discounted Apartment Units available in Harvey About AmeriCorps AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers serve directly with nonprofit organizations to tackle our nation's most pressing challenges. Hosted by NeighborScapes NFP, (10) AmeriCorps members will compose a "Harvey Conservation Corps" who will help catalyze revitalizing green spaces in and around the southern Chicago suburb of Harvey, Illinois. Summary The AmeriCorps members will take responsibility for supporting community gardens, urban farms, and healthy green streetscapes; creating and maintaining trails in nearby parks and forest preserves; helping residents with both environmental stewardship and health education around nature, connecting Harvey students with nature, and maintaining and improving public lands. Essential Duties 1. Wildland Fire Training Certification / Illinois Pesticide Certification 2. Clearing Invasive Plant Species in Parks / Forest Preserve a. Creating /maintaining nature trails in public lands around the South Suburbs 3. Working in urban farms and community gardens Qualifications 1. Must be a U.S. Citizen (required for FEMA Corps and Forest Corps), or a Lawful Permanent Resident of the U.S. 2. Must pass a background check upon arrival to the program. 3. For Part-time members, an individual must be available for 2 or 3 days of in-person service is expected.
