<p>The Administrative Assistant is a grant funded, non-civil service position that performs complex and varied professional administrative support services for the grant-funded Parentage / Child Support Division ("IV-D") of Metro-Nashville & Davidson County Juvenile Court. Performs related duties as required.</p> <p>Davidson County Juvenile Court's mission is to prevent problems, promote the positive potential in all people, and pursue fairness and hope.</p> <ul> <li>Attends IV-D court hearings and serves as administrative assistant to assigned Magistrate. </li><li>Prepares court files for all IV-D hearings on a weekly basis. </li><li>Ensures all service of process for said files has been completed prior to court hearings. </li><li>Prepares legal pleadings and orders as required in order to ensure assigned IV-D cases are properly disposed. </li><li>Tracks and maintains data directly related to the IV-D grant. </li><li>Prepares monthly reports required by the IV-D grant. </li><li>Ensures docket schedules are utilized in order to meet the needs of IV-D clients for the assigned Magistrate. </li><li>Monitors all correspondence sent to the assigned Magistrate to ensure ethical compliance with said communications. </li><li>Travels to court hearings held at off-site locations as needed. </li><li>Takes all court related calls and messages on behalf of assigned Magistrate. </li><li>Addresses questions regarding general court matters such as case dates, times and continuances. </li><li>Reviews and maintains confidential and sensitive information. </li><li>Performs duties as sworn deputy court clerk. </li><li>Provides administrative support to team as needed, including, but not limited to, drafting and mailing correspondence, managing documents and records, and maintaining files. </li><li>Serves as back-up assistant to other assistants when required. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE</p> <p>High School Diploma and two (2) years of administrative experience in a law firm or a law/court related field.</p> <p>Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply.</p> <p> </p> <p>Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government. </p> <ul> <li>Child support related experience, specifically with State of Tennessee Child Support Guidelines/Child Support Worksheet calculations </li><li>Court room related experience </li><li>Ability to work in an environment that maintains high volume work load on a weekly basis </li><li>Ability to work with a diverse public population on a daily basis (including, but not limited to, face- to-face interaction) </li></ul> <p>We are an equal opportunity employer.
