Responsible for developing and coordinating effective communication programs for the deaf community via American Sign Language (ASL).</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Coordinates and oversees interpretation services for deaf patients giving priority to emergency and critical situations. </li><li>Maintains records and documents all activity to include compiling statistical reports. </li><li>Participates in interdisciplinary team rounds and conferences as needed. </li><li>Develops and facilitates a plan for active community outreach with the deaf community in the Beebe Healthcare service area. </li><li>Assists with departmental activities and coverage. </li><li>Develops and facilitates team member education as needed. </li><li>Maintains a working relationship with ASL Vendor such as Definitions and maintains ASL interpreter schedule and calendar for sending interpreter requests to the Vendor. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Clear communication skills written, verbal, and American Sign Language </li><li>Able to keep confidential information regarding patients and team members </li><li>Able to withstand crisis situations </li><li>Skills to provide customer service to patients, team members, and visitors </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft programs to include Word and Excel </li></ul> <p>Experience & Education Required</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in related field </li><li>Familiarity with deaf culture </li><li>Ability to obtain National Interpreter Certification (NIC) from the Registry for the Interpreters of the Deaf (RID) </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <p>Other Information</p> <p>*</p> <p>Entry</p> <p>USD $49,233.60/Yr.</p> <p>Max</p> <p>USD $76,315.20/Yr.</p>
