<p>Job Title: Counseling & Psychological Services - Clinical Faculty, CFS Professional Track</p> <p>Posting End Date: January 10, 2026</p> <ul> <li>NOTE: Last day to apply is Friday, January 9, 2026 @ 11:59 p.m. MST </li></ul> <p>Position Start Date: August 17, 2026, Fall semester</p> <p>Required Degree:</p> <p>Minimum: A master's degree in a mental health field that qualifies the holder to be licensed to practice psychotherapy. The required degree must be completed by the start date.</p> <p>Preferred: A doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology; marriage and family therapy; or social work.</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>Brigham Young University's Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is seeking applications for full-time professional faculty positions. This is a continuing faculty status position that may be under-filled with a visitor.</p> <p>This position is focused on the direct delivery of psychological services to the BYU campus community, including students, faculty, and administration. All faculty convey the love of Jesus Christ through their service to students, and clinical work includes an emphasis on serving students with compassion as disciples of Jesus Christ should. The primary function of a CAPS faculty member consists of providing individual, group, and couples therapy. Faculty also engage in outreach and consultation. Teaching activities build faith in Jesus Christ and include scientifically accurate content in the domain of mental health, and faculty also engage in scholarly activities that advance understanding of the field of psychology.</p> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Utah licensure is required within one year of hire. </li><li>Previous college counseling center experience is preferred. </li><li>Experience with psychotherapy, assessment, and training of Ph.D. students in university setting is preferred. </li><li>We highly encourage applicants with experience of demonstrated competency in working with diverse populations. </li><li>Ability and desire to interact with students is required. </li><li>Excellent communication skills, both oral and written is required. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students is required. </li><li>Flexibility is required. </li></ul> <p>Duties/Expectations:</p> <p>Direct Service (24 hours per week)</p> <ul> <li>Conduct individual therapy, group therapy, and couples therapy </li><li>Supervise graduate therapist-in-therapy (including supervision of interns from our APA-accredited internship) </li><li>Teach one Student Development course focused on mental health and psychology topics </li><li>Provide community level outreach intervention and consultation to the university community </li><li>The faculty member may choose to pursue one of two tracks: the scholarship track or the clinical track. The scholarship track requires that the faculty member will engage in one scholarly conference presentation per year OR publish one peer-reviewed article every three years. The clinical track involves the faculty member assuming two additional clinical hours in place of any scholarship requirement. </li></ul> <p>Indirect/Administrative Services (16 hours per week)</p> <ul> <li>Faculty who opt for the scholarship track will participate in scholarly activity and relevant research. </li><li>Serve on assigned faculty department and university committees </li><li>Complete clinical documentation </li><li>Complete relevant ongoing training for continuing education to maintain licensure </li><li>Participate in mentorship activities as assigned </li></ul> <p>Must reside in the State of Utah to be eligible for employment consideration.</p> <p>Mission Alignment Statement</p> <p>BYU is committed to hiring faculty members who enthusiastically embrace and energetically advance its unique mission.
