<p>JOB TITLE - Custodian 5am-2pm</p> <p>CLASSIFICATION - Classified</p> <p>FLSA STATUS - Non-Exempt</p> <p>IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR - Custodial Supervisor</p> <p>RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM - Custodial Supervisor, Coordinator of Building & Grounds, Building administration</p> <p>PURPOSE OF THE POSITION - Maintain cleanliness of the school location and uphold a hygenic and sanitized environment to ensure safety of educational staff and students.</p> <p>Please review the UCSD Actions of Excellence to gain an understanding of the expectations for UCSD employees.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS -</p> <p>(Skills, Knowledge, Abilities, Education, Certification/Licensure, Experience, Equipment)</p> <p>Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of effective and efficient cleaning procedures. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. </li><li>Knowledge of district custodial operations. </li><li>Knowledge of the fire drill regulations and procedures. </li><li>Knowledge of emergency procedures and problem solving. </li><li>Ability to lift 50 lbs. </li><li>Ability to follow written and visual instructions. </li><li>Ability to relate effectively with students, faculty, parents, and other staff members. </li><li>Ability to use technology effectively. </li><li>Basic knowledge of repair techniques. </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent required. </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Custodial experience preferred. </li></ul> <p>Equipment</p> <ul> <li>Cleaning equipment. </li><li>Vehicles. </li><li>Hand and power tools. </li><li>Snow removal equipment. </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -</p> <p>The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.</p> <ul> <li>Cleaning designated area per the assigned daily schedule. </li><li>Clean and maintain floor. </li><li>Clean and sanitize all bathroom fixtures. </li><li>Clean and wash all glass surfaces. </li><li>Clean furniture. </li><li>Provide trash removal. </li><li>Conduct ongoing maintenance. </li><li>Replace light bulbs. </li><li>Perform minor plumbing repairs. </li><li>Clean filters. </li><li>Replace ceiling tiles. </li><li>Touch up paint as needed. </li><li>Assist in keeping grounds free of rubbish. </li><li>Inspect assigned area to ensure that all cleaning requirements are complete and that all building systems are working. </li><li>Report major repairs to supervisor via electronic work order process. </li><li>Maintain the facility is in a condition of excellent cleanliness. </li><li>Ensure the building is securely locked each night and unlocked each morning. </li><li>Assist with snow removal as assigned. </li><li>Maintain a positive rapport with students, staff, parents, and the community. </li><li>Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner. </li><li>Use technology to submit work orders, submit absences, and communicate. </li><li>Maintain a reliable attendance record. </li><li>Maintain confidentiality. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISION OF OTHERS -</p> <ul> <li>None </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS -</p> <ul> <li>Repetitious bending, lifting, and hand movement. </li><li>Capable of lifting 50 lbs. </li><li>Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work overhead. </li><li>Ability to work standing and moving for long periods of tiem. </li><li>Ability to work an irregular schedule. </li><li>Drug, tobacco, and alcohol-free while working. </li><li>Must be able to see and hear within normal limits with or without corrective lenses or hearing aids. </li><li>Ability to operate a motor vehicle used to travel between sites. </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS -</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work in extreme and/or inclement weather. </li><li>Occasional exposure to body fluids, fumes, noise, hazardous materials, and emergency situations. </li><li>Occupational hazards, which might include the possibility of being exposed to noise, dust, burns from chemicals, and possible strains from improper lifting. </li></ul> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT -</p> <ul> <li>At-Will Employee </li><li>Letter of Assignment </li><li>Per Board Policies and administrative guidelines </li><li>Performance evaluated annually </li></ul>
