<p>Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm</p> <p>Reports to: Various Supervisors</p> <p>Hourly Wage: $18.00</p> <p>NATURE OF WORK</p> <p>Under general supervision, performs work of routine difficulty in ordering, receiving, and issuing inventory supplies and in maintaining related records.</p> <p>DISTINGUISHING FEATURES</p> <p>Work involves general labor, parts inventorying and data entry into software programs.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (These essential duties are only illustrative.)</p> <p>Orders products and materials relative to Departmental and organizational needs.</p> <p>Computer data entry and tracking.</p> <p>Maintains inventory for various departments and performs cycle counts of parts on hand.</p> <p>Secures telephone and electronic price quotations.</p> <p>Cleans, sweeps, organizes working areas.</p> <p>Verifies delivered quantities, compliance of contract orders, and tracks back orders.</p> <p>Unloads and unpackages deliveries while restocking shelves as needed.</p> <p>Picks up various parts and supplies from local vendors.</p> <p>Safely operates assigned City vehicles.</p> <p>Observes basic safety practices.</p> <p>Maintain reasonable and predictable attendance.</p> <p>Performs related work as required.</p> <p>SUPERVISION RECEIVED</p> <p>Work is performed under the direction of the supervisor. The employee must be capable of prioritizing a variety of duties and communicate effectively with vendors and employees in the department. Work is reviewed through observation of work performance, and adherence to policies and procedures.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS</p> <p>Knowledge of office terminology and procedures, the operation of office equipment, machines and personal computers. Knowledge of MS Office Suite or other word processing, spreadsheet and database software. Knowledge of spelling and arithmetic.</p> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> <p>Work is generally performed at the Public Works City Yards facility in an office setting as well as the shop floor and stockrooms. Work is moderate in activity with occasional walking, standing, lifting, bending, or lifting and carrying items under 50 pounds. May be required to handle hazardous materials such as antifreeze, oils and cleaning products. Certain tasks may have set deadlines and involve volume processing.
