Core to this position is the successful performance of the team's safety, quality, cost, schedule and continuous improvement.</p> <p>Effective communication, leadership, creating a positive team environment with employees and peers is key to success for the selected candidate. This position of Operations Supervisor provides a platform to gain a working knowledge of various manufacturing environments and their relationships with other parts of Electric Boat business. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer or experienced trades-personto advance into a career-building leadership position and gain invaluable experienceto support their career development.</p> <p>Roles and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Lead the activities of approximately 15 piping trades employees in the performance of preparing, assembling and installing equipment on-boardsubmarines </li><li>Primary point of contact to interface with engineering, ship's management, quality and other trade departments </li><li>Lead the team to achievement of company goals for safety, quality, cost, schedule and continuous improvement </li><li>Take ownership of team performance </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Have the abilityto read and interpretblueprints, procedures, and related reference documents </li><li>Have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with subordinates and supervisors </li><li>Must be able to work all assignedshifts </li><li>Must be able to work extended hours </li><li>Must be able to go on road assignments as business needs dictate </li><li>Applicant must obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance as a condition of employment </li><li>Capable of reading, interpreting and putting into effect plans, procedures and instructions </li><li>Good presentation skills and attention to detail preferred </li><li>Proficientin MS Word, Excel and Power Point preferred </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED </li><li>3 + years of trade, manufacturing, and/or military experience </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>College/technical school AS/BS degree </li><li>1 year pipefitting experience </li><li>3 years of shipyard experience </li><li>Previous supervisory experience </li><li>Previous related Military/Navy experience </li><li>Nuclear qualifications </li><li>Knowledge of 688, VIRGINIA, and COLUMBIA class submarines </li><li>Radcon qualifications </li></ul>
