<p>BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB</p> <p>Performs electrocardiogram testing and ancillary duties of Respiratory Care</p> <p>REPORTS TO</p> <ul> <li>Drew Martenson, Director </li></ul> <p>JOB REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities: No</p> <p>Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Actively enrolled in a college working towards a degree in Respiratory Care</p> <p>License/Certification Required: BLS Required</p> <p>Minimum Work Experience: None</p> <p>REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Basic computer skills with experience with Microsoft Office </li><li>Must be able to work effectively with patients/families as well as other members of the patient care team </li></ul> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Promptly responds to requests for EKG data and related information. Provides for the appropriate transfer of pertinent data while ensuring the privacy of the patient's medical information </li><li>Conducts accurate EKG testing Ensuring accurate, quality tracings consistent with physician recommendations and age-specific requirements </li><li>Communicates QA issues regarding EKG's and other responsibilities to departmental managers as needed and appropriate </li><li>Ensures timely processing and accurate documentation of completed EKGs </li><li>Performs timely set up and download of bedside apnea monitor data </li><li>Ensures Respiratory Care equipment is clean and in good working order </li><li>Monitors stock level of office supplies, equipment, and medications. Reorders as needed </li><li>Assists RT with patient repositioning for therapy as requested </li><li>Performs oxygen tank rounds to maintain appropriate stock in all areas </li><li>Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment </li><li>Interacts with all patients, staff, volunteers, etc. in a considerate, helpful, and courteous manner, as observed by management observation and peer input </li><li>Willingly accepts any other assignment that may be requested </li><li>Fosters mature professional relationships with fellow employees in a courteous, friendly, manner as measured by management observation and peer input </li><li>Communicates efficiently and effectively with others in the department </li><li>Reads and responds to e-mail promptly and professionally </li><li>Attends and actively participates in departmental meetings </li><li>Utilizes hospital resources and time respectfully and accountably </li><li>Assists with the correct entering, monitoring and editing of patient charges as needed. Participates in thorough clinical data collection as required </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>Note: Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position. </li><li>Light lifting, pushing and pulling is required for 10-20 lbs occasionally and frequent moving of objects of less than 10 lbs is required. Frequent sitting with some walking, standing, squatting, bending and reaching is required.
