When hospitals cannot provide the advanced care, expertise and new treatment options their patients require, they turn to us.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Provides managerial, operational and technical oversight for Point of Care Testing (POCT) for the Hartford HealthCare system. This includes seven acute Hospitals and other offsite locations. Leads and supports a team of POCT Coordinators and works closely with Medical Directors, and leadership team to formulate section activities, modify, and implement test procedures and policies, and maintain adherence to all regulatory (TJC, CAP, CLIA) regulations. Participates in the planning and execution of POCT projects and service goals. Serves as a system resource for POCT to all health partners (e.g. physicians, nursing, etc.). Ensures operational excellence of POCT services provided and drives innovation for the program.</p> <ul> <li>Oversees the operations of the department, manages and solves technical issues Ensures departmental compliance with all regulatory and accrediting agency requirements .Builds high performing, interconnected teams through employee engagement. </li><li>In collaboration with the Laboratory Director, is responsible for staff selection, onboarding/coaching, talent assessment and development, daily direction, performance evaluations, counseling and discipline. Shifts technical assignments as required in response to exceptional workflow demands. Facilitate and aids in resolving any conflict management issues as they arise </li><li>Ensures fiscal responsibility of POCT services, including but not limited to: equipment selection and negotiation, supply cost evaluation, clinical care redesign initiatives, proper utilization of testing based on clinical need. </li><li>Ensures standardization of services and processes where appropriate. Ensures operational excellence of services provided and drives innovation for the program to best serve the needs of our clinical teams and patients. </li><li>Develops relationships with system and regional leadership teams (physician, nursing, medical group, quality, professional development, etc.) and serves as a system resource for POCT needs. </li><li>Initiates and actively participates in departmental projects; provides project assistance for the Laboratory Director on high-level (system or local) projects. </li><li>Assists in the determination of the department's quality indicators and metrics. Ensures compliance with goals and addresses quality & safety events, deficiencies and proficiency testing compliance </li><li>Assists the Laboratory Director in driving initiatives to support the HHC System Balanced Scorecard; actively participates in and directs initiatives using Lean Daily Management and Leader Standard Work. Assists Director in the Development of goals in conjunction with the Balance Score Card initiates. </li><li>Assists Director in the Development of goals in conjunction with the Balance Score Card initiates </li></ul> <p>Education: Bachelor's degree in one of the physical, chemical, or biological sciences. Bachelor's of Science in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Sciences is preferred.</p> <p>Experience: Five (5) of clinical laboratory experience with an additional two (2) to four (4) years of clinical laboratory supervisory or management experience. Five (5) or more years of clinical laboratory supervisory or management experience is preferred.</p> <p>Licensure, Certification, Registration: ASCP (MT, MLS) required.</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Proficient computer skills (e.g. email, Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, POWER POINT) </li><li>Must possess a working knowledge of overall laboratory operations. </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with other departments/department leaders/Administration </li><li>Ability to handle multiple tasks/priorities; ability to prioritize daily work </li><li>Capable of providing an outstanding customer service experience for patients and staff </li></ul> <p>We take great care of careers.</p> <p>With locations around the state, Hartford HealthCare offers exciting opportunities for career development and growth.
