<p>Apply</p> <p>Job Type</p> <p>Contract</p> <p>Description</p> <p>Drop Bury Crews Needed - Charlotte, Gastonia, Lenoir, NC & Surrounding Areas</p> <p>Lightspeed Construction Group is a premier telecommunications contractor serving Charter Communications (Spectrum) and Comcast (Xfinity). We are actively seeking experienced drop bury crews with the proper machinery and personnel.</p> <p>MUST HAVE:</p> <ul> <li>Your own equipment, vehicles, and insurance </li><li>Machines capable of burying drop conduit </li><li>Directional boring capabilities (preferred) </li><li>Experience with fiber and coax cutovers </li><li>Ability to perform driveway and road bores </li><li>Note: Road bores will require access to a pedestal or vault to locate conduit </li><li>Responsibility for placing connectors on all active drops, including FTTH </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Must pass a background check and drug test </li><li>Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record </li><li>Availability to work weekends (6-day work week) </li><li>Trenching or vibratory plow machinery with bore attachments </li><li>Compatible smartphone (Samsung S20FE, S10E, S9, or S8 for Tech Mobile app) </li><li>Insurance coverage: </li><li> <ul> <li>Commercial Auto </li></ul> </li><li> <ul> <li>General Liability </li></ul> </li><li> <ul> <li>Workers' Compensation </li></ul> </li><li>Signal meter (e.g., VEEX CX310 or equivalent) - must be TDR-capable and able to upload data to a server </li></ul> <p>Preferred Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Road bores and drop buries (fiber/coax) </li><li>Concrete and asphalt cut-and-patch work (requires proper saw blade) </li><li>Directional bore operation </li><li>Locating equipment usage </li></ul> <p>Technician Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Manage traffic safely around work zones </li><li>Prepare job sites and eliminate hazards </li><li>Coordinate with equipment operators </li><li>Read and follow work instructions/specifications </li><li>Handle loading/unloading and use of construction tools </li><li>Accurately measure and mark construction layout areas </li><li>Perform trenching, backfilling, and grading work using hand tools </li></ul> <p>Knowledge Areas:</p> <ul> <li>Construction: Understanding of materials, methods, and tools used in utility and road work </li><li>Mechanical: Familiarity with machines, tools, and their maintenance </li><li>Safety/Security: Knowledge of safety policies and practices for secure work environments </li></ul> <p>Additional Notes:</p> <ul> <li>Must be bore-capable </li><li>More than enough work is available </li><li>Weekend availability is expected </li><li>Rates will be discussed individually with each crew </li></ul>
