This role is on-site in Torrance, CA and is a 1.5-3 month full-time, contract.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <ul> <li> <p>Leads daily safety meetings</p> </li><li> <p>Verifies all turnaround safety processes have been fully implemented</p> </li><li> <p>Verify receipt and quality of training documentation received e.g., forklift certification</p> </li><li> <p>Follows up to ensure correct actions have been implemented for any incidents and near-miss reporting</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures that federal, provincial, and local laws, regulations, rules, and codes are observed by contractors</p> </li><li> <p>Assist, with plan to implement move in/out contractor safety training for employee orientation programs</p> </li><li> <p>Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the client's workplace during on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in the safety observation program, submit feedback, and assure documents are begin submitted and tracked accordingly</p> </li><li> <p>Provide advice and counseling for all compliance regulations</p> </li><li> <p>Compile, analyze, and interpret incident report data to develop corrective actions to eliminate risk. Assure compliance to company safety policy handbook and site-specific policies</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in safety walks & audits, provide positive correction advice to employees working at risk</p> </li><li> <p>Uphold and communicate high standards of housekeeping in assigned areas and on all job sites. Conduct frequent formal housekeeping inspections of plant areas</p> </li></ul> <p>What You'll Need</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Strong organizational, interpersonal and planning skills. Strong leadership abilities</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates strong follow up skills</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to accurately perform other duties as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Understands safety standards</p> </li><li> <p>10+ years of experience in Safety Coordinator role in refinery or petrochemical industry</p> </li><li> <p>Degree in health and safety related discipline and /or hold current CSP preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Subject matter expertise in understanding regulatory policies from OSHA, MSHA, NFPA, NEC, CGA, Alberta OHS</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated expertise and commitment in applying Corporate safety policies and procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated experience in site auditing, assessment, and coaching</p> </li><li> <p>Good interpersonal, communication, training, and influence skills</p> </li><li> <p>Motivated Positive Safety Attitude</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated leadership skills</p> </li><li> <p>Good organizational and project management skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Training and experience in incident investigation</p> </li><li> <p>Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Word, Excel, Power point)</p> </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to?safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent?with the ADA and other federal,?state,?and local standards</p> </li><li> <p>Sedentary work that involves sitting or?remaining?stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer,?utilizing?a mouse, keyboard, and monitor</p> </li></ul> <p>#DNP</p> <p>Reasonable accommodation statement</p> <p>If you require a reasonable accommodation in completing this application, interviewing, completing any pre-employment testing, or otherwise participating in the employment selection process, please direct your inquiries to application.accommodations@cai.io or (888) 824 - 8111.</p> <p>$100.00-$110.00 per hour</p> <p>The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access.
