<p>Division</p> <p>Steel Dynamics</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>The Occupational Health Nurse reports directly to the General Manager at the respective location and indirectly to the Occupational Health Director. The successful candidate holds a valid nursing license in practicing state and current certification in CPR/AED from American Red Cross or AHA.</p> <p>The position is full time Monday - Friday with on-call required after hours for injury management.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Treatment of on-site injuries and referral to outside medical care as needed </li><li>Case management for injured workers and facilitate return to work </li><li>Provide medical surveillance for all employees including but not limited to annual audiograms, spirometry, vision screening and lead testing </li><li>Conduct new hire pre-employment drug and alcohol screening & coordinate medical examinations </li><li>Participate in ergonomics assessments and job hazard analyses </li><li>Administration of the Drug and Alcohol program according to company policy </li><li>Responsible for training employees in First Aid and CPR/AED as Medical Responders to aid in the care of injured workers </li><li>Responsible for training employees on Bloodborne Pathogens, Hearing Conservation, Violence in the Workplace, Ergonomics and Heat Stress to meet OSHA requirements </li><li>Advise on Workers' Compensation claims, as needed </li><li>FMLA Administration </li><li>Maintain HIPPA compliant documentation </li><li>Accountable for delivery of agreed to regional health metrics and outcomes </li><li>Purchase all supplies required for the first aid clinic </li><li>Develop and meet site budget expectations </li><li>Drive increased health outcomes including reducing population health risks, managing and eliminating workplace health risks and supporting improved business outcomes through advancing employee health and wellbeing </li><li>Willingness to work closely with the Safety Coordinators at the division level to recognize hazards and prevent injury </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required</p> <ul> <li>Active RN license in state of practice </li><li>2 or more years hospital or clinic nursing experience </li><li>Excellent assessment skills in a clinical setting </li><li>Phlebotomy skills a must </li><li>Current CPR/AED certification </li><li>Travel, as needed </li></ul> <p>May not be related to another employee at location of employment. (The definition of relative in this requirement is any person who is related by blood or marriage, or whose relationship with the employee is similar to that of persons who are related by blood or marriage.)</p> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li>3 or more years of experience in occupational nursing or emergency nursing and/or clinic experience </li><li>3 or more years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, and/or occupational environment </li><li>Working knowledge of regulatory areas (ADA, OSHA, FMLA, Workers' Compensation) </li><li>CPR/AED Instructor </li><li>Health coaching/certification </li><li>Certified Occupational Health Nurse </li></ul> <p>Steel Dynamics, Inc., and all affiliated entities are equal opportunity employers.</p>
