<p>POSITION TITLE: Middle School .6 French Teacher</p> <p>LOCATION: Galvin Middle School, Wakefield, MA</p> <p>TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: One-Year Position</p> <p>SALARY: Per Contract</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Principal</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>The Wakefield Public Schools seeks an enthusiastic, student-centered French teacher at the Galvin Middle School, effective September 1, 2025. Candidates will be responsible for teaching French to grades 5-8. Interested individuals should demonstrate the ability to design and facilitate engaging lessons that incorporate communicative activities, authentic resources, and comprehensible input as effective instructional strategies to support language and intercultural proficiency.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement engaging units of study that align with the ACTFL Core Practices and the Massachusetts World Language Standards, ensuring students acquire language skills through meaningful, real-world contexts. </li><li>Promote cultural awareness and appreciation by facilitating collaborative student discourse and activities that explore diverse global perspectives. </li><li>Create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that addresses the unique learning styles, abilities, and emotional needs of all students. </li><li>Use a variety of formative and summative assessments to evaluate students' progress and proficiency, providing actionable feedback to support their growth. </li><li>Work closely with fellow world language educators to develop common assessments, analyze student data, and refine instructional strategies for continuous improvement. </li><li>Maintain clear communication with parents, administrators, and students regarding course objectives, expectations, and individual progress. </li><li>Fulfill teacher responsibilities, including attending professional development opportunities and contributing to the broader educational community. </li></ul> <p>The position requires the ability to communicate verbally and visually; while performing the duties of this job, the teacher is frequently required to move about a classroom, talk, and hear.</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty</p> <p>satisfactorily.
