<p>Job Description and Duties</p> <p>The Environmental Services Intern (ESI) will support the Planning and Land Use team with the following responsibilities:</p> <p>The main responsibilities of the Planning and Land Use team at LCI include: Developing and maintaining technical guidelines and advisories for interpretation and implementation of California state laws; reviewing and analyzing proposed housing, land use, transportation, and conservation bills; providing technical assistance to local governments and other stakeholders; collaborating with research institutes and other state agencies to develop effective data strategies and policies that achieve California's priorities to address climate and planning issues; conducting interagency coordination and collaboration to review data, plans, policies and strategies of other agencies and engaging them to review LCI's plans and documents; and, soliciting input from local government and a variety of stakeholders for the guidelines, technical advisories, and strategic plans created by LCI.</p> <p>You will find additional information about the job in the Duty Statement.</p> <p>Working Conditions</p> <p>Persons appointed to this position must be reasonably expected to exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects with or without a reasonable accommodation. LCI assists the Governor and the Administration in planning, research, policy development, and legislative analysis. LCI formulates long- range state goals and policies to address land use, climate change, population growth and distribution, urban expansion, infrastructure development, groundwater sustainability and drought response, and resource protection. LCI's budget programs include State Planning and Policy Development, Strategic Growth Council, and the Racial Equity Commission.
