We are committed to a strong partnership with our teachers, parents, and community.Overview:The School Pediatric Nurse Practitioner will play a vital role in providing high-quality healthcare services to our K-12 students, promoting their overall well-being, and supporting a healthy environment. This position combines advanced clinical skills with a strong commitment to improving the health and wellness of our students. The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing outpatient diagnostic, treatment, and preventive health care services; management of chronic illness; utilizing appropriate referral and consultation to staff physician and community specialists; health education to students. This position is a 12-month position.QualificationsEducation/Certification:Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner License in NYS - RequiredCertified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)Valid CPR certificationRequirements:Bilingual Spanish/English - PreferredExperience in primary care, pediatrics, or school-based healthcare is preferredStrong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to work with diverse student populations.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with students and their families.Empathy, patience, and a commitment to supporting the health and well-being of students. Duties and Responsibilities:Provides comprehensive primary healthcare services to students, including but not limited to health assessments, diagnosis, treatment and management of acute and chronic medical conditions.Develop and deliver health education programs and initiatives to promote healthy lifestyles, preventive care and student wellness.Conduct physical examinations for students in need of an annual physicalAdminister and oversee immunization programs to ensure compliance with state and school requirements.Provide medical clearance for students participating in athletics and extra curriculum activities.Conduct and manage health screenings, such as vision, hearing and identify potential health issues. Perform routine assessments, anticipatory guidance and evaluation of chronic conditions.Monitor and manage chronic health conditions among students, collaborating with students' families and healthcare providers when necessary.Provide immediate care in the event of medical emergencies on school campus, including injury assessment, first aid, and life support as needed.Prescribed, administer and manage medications for students, maintaining accurate medication records and related documentation.Collaborate with school registered nurse, staff, teachers, parents, administrators and external health providers to ensure a coordinated approach to student health and well-being.Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (HER) for all students, including health assessments, treatment plans and progress notes.Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents related.Issued referrals to specialists when necessary, ensuring that students receive appropriate follow-up care.Other duties as assigned.CompensationA competitive compensation package including base salary and complete benefits is available.Applying & selection processAfter submitting your cover letter, and resume, CSEE will review your documents.
