The ITS3 Information Security Network Administrator will be responsible for managing and securing network infrastructure, with a focus on next-generation firewall technologies, VLAN tagging, access rules, and filtering tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network security, administration, and troubleshooting. A CCNA certification or equivalent experience is highly desirable.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable network infrastructure to </li></ul> <p>support NYSBOE operations.</p> <ul> <li>Configure and manage next-generation firewalls (NGFWs) to enforce security </li></ul> <p>policies, including deep packet inspection, intrusion prevention, and web</p> <p>filtering.</p> <ul> <li>Implement and manage VLAN tagging to ensure proper network segmentation </li></ul> <p>and security.</p> <ul> <li>Develop and enforce access and filtering rules to regulate network traffic and </li></ul> <p>prevent unauthorized access.</p> <ul> <li>Monitor and analyze network performance, identifying and resolving issues </li></ul> <p>proactively.</p> <ul> <li>Configure access, distribution and core switches </li><li>Maintain wireless access points and wireless networks for internal and </li></ul> <p>external access</p> <ul> <li>Work closely with security and IT teams to ensure compliance with state and </li></ul> <p>federal security regulations.</p> <ul> <li>Support network integration with external organizations such as county boards </li></ul> <p>of elections.</p> <ul> <li>Provide technical support, training, and documentation related to network </li></ul> <p>infrastructure.</p> <ul> <li>Participate in disaster recovery and incident response planning and execution. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications Information Technology Specialist 3 (Information Security), Grade 23: Five years of information technology, cybersecurity, or information assurance experience.</p> <p>Substitutions:</p> <p>Bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science or related field substitutes for three years of required experience; any bachelor's substitutes for two years of required experience, or</p> <p>Associate degree with 15 semester credit hours in computer science or related field may substitute for one year of required experience.
