<p>Job Summary</p> <p>The lab of Dr. Kyoung Lee is seeking a highly motivated, organized individual for a full-time Research Lab Specialist position in a basic research laboratory located in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Michigan Medical School. Work at Michigan Medicine and become a victor for the greater good.</p> <p>What Benefits can you Look Forward to?</p> <ul> <li>Excellent medical, dental and vision coverage effective on your very first day </li><li>2:1 Match on retirement savings </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities*</p> <p>Duties include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Preparing general solutions, dishwashing and autoclaving </li><li>Maintaining lab inventory and ordering supplies/reagents </li><li>Maintaining and monitoring mouse colonies, and acting as an animal health contact </li><li>Collecting and processing mouse tissues </li><li>Injecting drugs to mice, and assisting mouse survival surgery </li><li>Performing mammalian cell culture </li><li>Performing standard molecular biology work, including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, and immunostaining </li><li>Recording research results in a neat and timely manner </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications*</p> <p>All Classifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Immunology, Cellular & Molecular Biology or a related discipline. </li></ul> <p>Senior Classification</p> <ul> <li>5+ years of experience in mouse handling/breeding, mouse disease models, mouse tissue collection, and injections (subcutaneous and intraperitoneal). </li><li>5+ years of biomedical laboratory research experience. </li></ul> <p>Intermediate Classification</p> <ul> <li>4+ years of experience in mouse handling/breeding, mouse disease models, mouse tissue collection, and injections (subcutaneous and intraperitoneal). </li><li>4+ years of biomedical laboratory research experience. </li></ul> <p>Associate Classification</p> <ul> <li>At least 2 years of experience in mouse handling/breeding, mouse disease models, mouse tissue collection, and injections (subcutaneous and intraperitoneal). </li><li>At least 2 years of biomedical laboratory research experience. </li></ul> <p>In order to be considered for this position the applicant must have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment.</p> <p>Desired Qualifications*</p> <p>Proficiency in part or all the following is preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Fluorescence microscopy </li><li>Flow cytometry </li><li>Immunohistochemistry/Immunofluorescence </li><li>Mammalian cell culture </li></ul> <p>Modes of Work</p> <p>Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
