Wyoming is one of only nine states with no state income tax.</p> <p>Human Resource Contact: Tina Borgaard 307-777-4356</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.</p> <ul> <li>Works on concurrent, multiple, complex projects </li><li>Utilizes computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software to develop, refine, and review horizontal and vertical alignments </li><li>Determines and refines excavation, embankment, and haul quantities for the construction of the roadway </li><li>Designs and details other roadway features such as guardrail installations, drainage structures, utility, and right-of-way impacts in accordance with applicable State and Federal design policies and procedures </li><li>Produces plans, generates reports, prepares exhibits, attends public meetings, and project inspections </li><li>Formulates, reviews, and refines bid item summaries by calculating pay quantities for the materials used to construct the roadway and preparing computer spreadsheets summarizing these quantities </li><li>Assembles contract plans and documents </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>PREFERENCES:</p> <p>Preference will be given to applicants who have experience with CADD software.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work independently </li><li>Knowledge of geometry, algebra, and trigonometry </li><li>Knowledge of highway engineering concepts and principles </li><li>Knowledge of CADD software </li><li>Skill in attention to detail </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree (typically in Engineering)</p> <p>Experience:</p> <p>0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in the Transportation occupational group) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Design Specialist I</p> <p>OR</p> <p>Education & ExperienceSubstitution:</p> <p>3-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in the Transportation occupational group) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Design Specialist I</p> <p>Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:</p> <p>None</p> <p>Necessary Special Requirements</p> <p>PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Occasional travel required </li></ul> <p>NOTES:</p> <ul> <li> <p>FLSA: Non-Exempt</p> </li><li> <p>E-Verify: WYDOT uses E-Verify, an Internet-based system, to confirm the eligibility of all newly hired employees to work in the United States.
