<p>Job Description and Duties</p> <p>Do you want to support California's natural resources in the work you perform every day? You can have an impact by working collaboratively to help fulfill the Department of Fish and Wildlife's mission. The Department of Fish and Wildlife's Northern Region is seeking a motivated individual to work as a Fish and Wildlife Seasonal Aid at our Trinity River Hatchery.</p> <p>Trinity River Hatchery is looking for an enthusiastic, self motivated individual to join the CDFW family. This is a Seasonal position with possible career advancement throughout the State of California. This position will give you an opportunity to assist in the spawning of Hatchery and Native fish, develop fish culture skills caring for eggs and fish at various stages of development,feeding of fish,cleaning ponds troughs and deep tanks, keeping record of fish losses. Throughout the season, you will engage in the care and maintenance of Trinity River Hatchery, which includes but is not limited to weedeating,mowing, pruning vegetation,hauling and disposal,to service and maintain the landscape and beauty of the Hatchery.</p> <p>The Fish and Wildlife Seasonal Aid classification is a non-testing classification.</p> <ul> <li>Applicants who receive public assistance under the CalWORKs program shall be given hiring priority consideration as provided in Government Code, Section 19063. </li><li>Applicants who receive public assistance need to identify themselves as CalWORKs recipients in the comments section of the STD 678, Examination/Employment Application. </li><li>Applicants must submit verification of CalWORKs eligibility, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) eligibility or a copy of the most recent aid check stub. </li><li>Applicants may obtain verification from the CalWORKs program. Weekend duties will be required on a rotational basis; days off may be other than Saturday and Sunday. Willingness to work unusual hours and holidays; willingness to perform varied manual tasks. This position may require occasional day travel, and occasional overnight travel for up to 5 days based on business need. Willingness to wear a prescribed uniform, possess a valid Driver's License.
