<p>SUMMARY:</p> <p>Responsible for providing professional nursing care for patients following established standards, and practices. Assists physicians and staff in coordinating patient care. Functions as primary liaison between patients, staff and physicians performed in a professional and courteous manner.</p> <ul> <li>Perform intake and assessment, which includes measuring patient health and wellness, both through direct observation and by conducting medical tests and evaluations. </li><li>Assists physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments. </li><li>Provides general nursing care to patients. Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards, doctors' orders, and facility policy. </li><li>Maintains /reviews patient record, charts and other pertinent information. Posts tests and examination results. </li><li>Coordinates patient care by triaging patient phone calls regarding clinical issues including pre and post-operative instructions, test results, medications, problems, and urgent visit requests, in a timely manner and reporting any problems or potential issues directly to the supporting provider. </li><li>Monitors medication inventory, checks expiration dates, and orders medications. </li><li>Set up instruments and equipment in exam/procedure rooms, as needed. </li><li>Clean rooms, instruments, and equipment in accordance with infection control standards and facility policy. </li><li>Order, sort, and store medical supplies. Maintain adequate par levels for all supplies. Restock exam/procedure rooms. </li><li>Adheres to Infection control and safety guidelines, as presented by the facility. </li><li>Always adhere to privacy laws including HIPPA and maintains patient confidentiality. </li><li>Document all activities/interventions, patient and family responses, medication dispensed and prescribed in the electronic medical record. </li><li>Promotes wellness by providing patient education material, and provide reinforcement of any needed provider instructions </li><li>Teach patient and/or family procedures or treatments as indicated. </li><li>Perform any other procedure or task assigned within the nursing scope of practice. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of basic nursing principles and protocols </li><li>Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality </li><li>Knowledge of electronic health record systems </li></ul> <p>SKILLS:</p> <ul> <li>Skill in appropriate assessment and assistance techniques </li><li>Skill in appropriate use of universal precautions, safe workplace and confidentiality methods </li><li>Skill in health information management by appropriately charting patient data </li><li>Skill in rapidly assessing situation and making critical care decisions about patient care </li><li>Skill in effective communication between, patients, patient representatives, staff and physicians </li></ul> <p>ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work effectively as team members with physicians and other staff </li><li>Ability to appropriately interact with patients, families, staff and others in a respectful and courteous nature. </li><li>Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands, with emphasis on high level of attention to detail </li><li>Ability to stand for long periods of time and transportation in order to travel to all office locations as needed. </li><li>Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, push/pull up to 25 lbs., stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>EDUCATION:</p> <ul> <li>RN Degree, BSN preferred </li><li>Urology Certification preferred </li></ul> <p>REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>RI RN License </li><li>Current CPR Certification </li></ul> <p>EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of two years professional nursing experience, urology experience preferred. </li></ul> <p>Pay Range:</p> <p>$35.70-$71.40</p> <p>EEO Statement:</p> <p>Brown University Health is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and maintaining a work environment free from all forms of unlawful discrimination and harassment.</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>LPG-Providence-2 Dudley St - 2 Dudley St Providence, Rhode Island 02905</p> <p>Work Type:</p> <p>M-F 8am - 5pm</p> <p>Work Shift:</p> <p>Day</p> <p>Daily Hours:</p> <p>8 hours</p> <p>Driving Required:</p> <p>Yes</p>
