<p>The Mendon-Upton Regional School District is seeking a student-centered Director of Student Support Services who is committed to excellence for all students, engages parents as partners, and inspires teachers and staff to support all students in the least restrictive environment.</p> <p>The Mendon-Upton Regional School District is looking for a leader who:</p> <ul> <li>Exhibits an unwavering belief that all students can achieve their full potential and thrive </li><li>Demonstrates the courage to innovate, build, and refine a learning environment that meets the news of every student </li><li>Is authentic, with high levels of integrity, and builds strong relationships based on trust </li><li>Serves as a powerful advocate for the district's vision to empower all learners to thrive </li><li>Has proven effectiveness in leading by example, effectively coaching adults, and collaborating seamlessly with colleagues </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree Required </li><li>Massachusetts licensure as an Administrator of Special Education </li><li>Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience in special education </li><li>Minimum of three years of administrative or supervisory experience preferred </li><li>SEI Administrative endorsement. </li><li>Extensive knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and program requirements </li><li>Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups </li><li>Excellent interpersonal, communication, and technology skills </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement a shared vision for student support services aligned with the vision and values of the Mendon-Upton Regional School District. </li><li>Lead, develop, implement and coordinate a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) that meet the needs of students in compliance with federal and state laws </li><li>Stay informed of all guidelines and legal requirements regarding student support services including, but not limited to special education, ELL, homeless/foster care, out of district placements, transportation, civil rights, Section 504 requirements, Medicaid reimbursement, and early intervention services. </li><li>Work in collaboration with the other school and district administrators as an active member of the district's leadership team. </li><li>Assist in the recruitment, selection, supervision and hiring of highly effective Special Education personnel. </li><li>Provide transparent guidance about expectations for IEP meetings and review and approve IEPs for quality, consistency, and adherence to state and federal regulations. </li><li>Design, implement, and evaluate procedures for pre-referral, referral, evaluation, reevaluation, and student placements. </li><li>Establish a collaborative partnership with the Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC), community resources, and business that deepen support and opportunities for students. </li><li>Oversee and supervise all out-of-district placement decisions and monitor case management of students, as well as develop appropriate programs on site to meet the changing needs of the student population. </li><li>Regularly visit schools, classrooms, and programs to observe Special Education, social-emotional learning, and provide targeted constructive feedback. </li><li>Develop and manage a budget with a focus on continuous improvement of services and opportunities, allocate expenditures consistent with district goals, and seek alternate funding sources as needed. </li><li>Manages circuit breaker reimbursement and federal/state grant funding requirements related to student support services. </li><li>Prepare for external audits such as Tiered Focus Monitoring Program Reviews, Mid-Cycle Reviews, and Continuous Improvement and Monitoring Plans as needed. </li><li>Prepare and submit annual data for DESE compliance Indicators </li><li>Collaborate with the Director of Finance to manage and provide for the transportation requirements of special education students. </li><li>Coordinate, supervise, and evaluate the work of the Team Chairpersons to ensure a consistent and effective special education leadership team. </li><li>Oversee and analyze assessment data for students receiving support services. </li><li>Assist in the development and revision of district policies and procedures in compliance with state and federal regulations. </li><li>Assume such other duties as requested by the Superintendent. </li></ul>
