<p>Job#: 2088813</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Apex Systems is currently hiring Low Voltage Technicians with experience working within Power, Utility or Industrial settings. This is a contract to hire role with our client. If interested, please send your resume to [email protected]</p> <p>Scope of Work - System Protection Technician Contractors</p> <p>Explanation of Work: Oversee the installation process by a wiring contractor for protection and control systems in a substation, including cable pulling and terminations. The design package will consist of elementary diagrams, wiring diagrams, and logic diagrams for panels and equipment. It is essential to verify the wiring for both panels and equipment.</p> <p>Relays will require the application of provided settings and subsequent testing to validate logic and set points. Some relays will have automated test plans, while others will utilize Protest software. All protection devices are manufactured by SEL. Dominion will supply templates for wire tags and panel labels, which can be used on any computer and printed on standard materials. Upon completion of the wire terminations, the wiring will be verified, circuits will be fused, and operational checks will be conducted.</p> <p>Explanation of Roles: It is preferred for personnel to have at least five years of experience installing, testing, and commissioning protection and control circuits. Lesser experience can be accepted if paired with more experienced personnel. Vendor personnel tasks and responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to:</p> <p>Responsibilities / Tasks:</p> <p>Ø Installing, testing and removal of:</p> <ul> <li>Digital fault recorders </li><li>Communications equipment such as RTU's and data concentrators </li><li>Protection panels </li><li>AC/DC systems </li></ul> <p>Ø End to end testing of substation SCADA systems with the operating center</p> <p>Ø Power line carrier installation, commissioning, tuning and calibration</p> <p>Ø Fiber terminating and testing</p> <p>Ø Loading current and potential circuits</p> <p>Ø Verifying logic diagrams to digital setting files</p> <p>Ø Ratioing current transformers in breakers, transformers, and stand-alone applications</p> <p>Ø Running Automated Test Plans or Protest plans to functionally test digital protection relays (SEL)</p> <p>Working Locations: Project locations in Virginia, North Carolina and West Virginia.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience in installing, testing, and commissioning protection and control circuits.</p> <ul> <li>Commissioning </li><li>Testing </li><li>Functional testing for protection and control circuitry associated with transmission lines, HV bus, transformer, circuit breaker, feeder, reactors, and capacitor banks </li><li>Experienced with SEL microprocessor relays such as 311C, 311L, 387, 411L, 421, 487B, 487E, 487V, 587, 587Z, and 787 </li><li>Desired experience with GE microprocessor relays such as C30, D60, F35, L90, T35 and T60 </li></ul> <p>Apex Benefits Overview: Apex offers a range of supplemental benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and other insurance plans that offer an optional layer of financial protection.
