This senior-level role focuses on technical expertise and project leadership to support plant operations and maintenance, including boiler operations, air pollution control equipment, fuel handling, ash removal, and waste handling.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide multidisciplinary engineering support and technical consultation to operations and maintenance teams, solving complex engineering challenges.</p> </li><li> <p>Offer guidance on combustion of solid fuels (coal and biomass), Air Pollution Control (APC) equipment, fuel handling, boiler performance, ash removal, and waste management.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with fuel procurement teams during contract renewals, reviewing fuel quality, setting reject limits, and assessing fuel impact on operations and APC performance (NOx, SO?, SO?, HCl, PM, Hg).</p> </li><li> <p>Support sootblowing systems, wet FGDs, dry scrubbers, Hg control systems, and potential Dry Sorbent Injection (DSI) projects.</p> </li><li> <p>Advise on dispatch cost calculations to support regulatory compliance and engage with suppliers and manufacturers on technical matters.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage technical, financial, and service commitments for internal and external stakeholders and conduct independent research to develop cost-effective solutions.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform additional duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering experience (PhD in Engineering can substitute up to 5 years of experience with approval).</p> </li><li> <p>Expertise in coal and biomass combustion, APC systems, and fuel handling processes.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong knowledge of fuel quality, boiler operations, sootblowing, waste disposal, and environmental compliance.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to provide technical guidance to multidisciplinary teams and consult on complex engineering challenges.</p> </li></ul> <p>Education and Licenses:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or an equivalent international degree under the Washington Accord, OR</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's degree in Engineering (non-ABET), Physics, Chemistry, Math, or Engineering Technology with a post-graduate ABET-accredited Engineering degree, OR</p> </li><li> <p>Valid U.S. Professional Engineer (PE) license.</p> </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Exposure to cold, dust, grease/oil, fumes, heat, loud noise, energized wires, outdoors, pressurized lines & valves, and travel up to 25% of the time.</p> </li><li> <p>Office work environment 76-100% of the time.</p> </li></ul> <p>About Seneca Resources:</p> <p>Seneca Resources provides strategic IT consulting services and workforce solutions to government and industry clients nationwide.
