<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Support Staff</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>8/11/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Riley Farms Elementary</p> <p>Date Available:</p> <p>08/25/2025</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>Until filled</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Notice of Support Staff Posting</p> <p>Position: Before/After Care Lead Childcare Provider Posting # 3839</p> <ul> <li>Riley Farms Elementary </li></ul> <p>Posting Dates: August 11th, 2025 - Until Filled</p> <p>Reports To: State & Federal Coordinator</p> <p>Beginning: August 25, 2025</p> <p>Hours: 10-20 hours per week</p> <p>Monday - Friday</p> <p>6:45 AM - 8:45 AM or</p> <p>4:00 PM - 6:00 PM</p> <p>Not to exceed a total of 40 hours for West Ottawa Public Schools</p> <p>School-Year/Part-Time</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check through the Michigan State Police and the FBI to ensure suitability for working with children. (Registration in the CCBC System) </li><li>CPR and First Aid Certification: Must have current certification in CPR and First Aid </li><li>Negative TB Screening complete </li><li>Willingness to participate in Annual Training: Ongoing professional development is required, including training on child abuse and neglect, and other relevant topics (e.g., child development, safety, and emergency procedures). </li></ul> <p>Job Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Provide Supervision: Ensure the safety and well-being of children during the two-hour before-care/after-care period (6:45am-8:45am or 4:00pm-6:00pm) </li><li>Engage in Activities: Lead age-appropriate activities (games, crafts, reading, etc.) to keep children engaged and active. </li><li>Morning Routines: Assist children with settling in, organizing personal items, and following a morning routine. </li><li>Promote Positive Behavior: Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment while managing behavior and conflicts. Contact parents with behavior concerns. </li><li>Communication with Parents: Greet parents upon drop-off/pick-up, and provide brief updates if necessary regarding the child's well-being. </li><li>Collaborate with School Staff: Coordinate with school staff to ensure a smooth transition for children to the regular school day. </li><li>Maintain Cleanliness: Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe space for children. </li><li>Follow Policies and Procedures: Adhere to all school policies, health regulations, and safety protocols. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. </li><li>Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles. </li><li>Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. </li><li>Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work; those activities where detailed or import spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. </li><li>Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound. </li><li>Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. </li><li>The worker is subject to environmental conditions. </li><li>The worker should provide consistent and reliable attendance. </li></ul>
