<p>Job Description</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>Department: Riley Pediatric Primary Care</p> <p>Location: Downtown Indianapolis</p> <p>Schedule:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Four 10-hour shifts per week: 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM</p> </li><li> <p>Every third Saturday: 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM: weekend shift differential pay</p> </li><li> <p>Some national holidays may be required; holiday shifts include differential pay</p> </li></ul> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Registration Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth and professional experience for patients from the moment they arrive. This position supports both clinical and administrative functions by:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Facilitating patient flow from entry to destination in a timely and courteous manner</p> </li><li> <p>Collecting and verifying financial and demographic information to support accurate billing and clinical documentation</p> </li><li> <p>Scheduling appointments and conducting patient interviews to gather necessary medical information</p> </li><li> <p>Explaining hospital and departmental policies, including charges</p> </li><li> <p>Validating and entering charges into appropriate systems</p> </li><li> <p>Answering incoming calls and directing patients and visitors appropriately</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma or GED (required)</p> </li><li> <p>Previous experience in a healthcare setting (preferred)</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to learn and retain medical coding; familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding (preferred)</p> </li><li> <p>Understanding of insurance processes and clinical practices; knowledge of medical terminology (preferred)</p> </li><li> <p>Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)</p> </li></ul> <p>Why Join Us?</p> <p>At Riley Pediatric Primary Care, we are committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care to children and families.
