<p>Title: American Sign Language (ASL) Adjunct Faculty</p> <p>Salary Range: $550 per credit hour</p> <p>Contract Term Length: Not Applicable</p> <p>Standard Hours: Varies</p> <p>Work Location: On-Site</p> <p>FLSA Status: Exempt</p> <p>College: Owensboro Community & Technical College</p> <p>Campus Location: Owensboro Community College</p> <p>Department: Heritage, Humanities, and Fine Arts Department</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Owensboro Community and Technical College invites applications to apply for our part-time / temporary adjunct American Sign Language (ASL) position in the Heritage, Humanities, and Fine Arts Department. This role will provide instruction online and/or in-person, introductory ASL courses, and report to the Department Head of Heritage, Humanities, and Fine Arts.</p> <p>Job Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Teach online learner-centered student instruction in undergraduate courses in the discipline. </li><li>Provide instruction to students in both theory and practice. </li><li>Plan and carry out instructional activities, maintain records and reports on student attainment and progress. </li><li>Utilization and care of the subject material within the learning management system - Blackboard Ultra. </li><li>Possess a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, working with a diverse population, and the community and technical college mission. </li><li>Keep abreast of changes in the respective field and help keep the program updated. </li><li>Participate in professional development activities and training as needed. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in a related field and proof of successful completion of 18 graduate semester hours of ASL courses </li><li>Licensure & Certifications: RID (CSC, CDI, CI, CT, NAD IV, NAD V, NIC, CASLI), BEI Advanced, and/or ASLTA certification </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>A master's degree in ASL </li><li>Teaching experience using the Signing Naturally curriculum </li><li>Knowledge of ACTFL, CCIE and ASLTA standards </li><li>Experience teaching ASL classes. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills Requested:</p> <ul> <li>Strong MS Office Suites experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) </li><li>Strong problem-solving skills.
