In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors at the health center. The Security Guard plays a critical role in fostering a welcoming and secure environment This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the community while advancing your career in healthcare.</p> <p>Essential Position Duties:</p> <p>Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property by monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points permitting entry.</p> <ul> <li>Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities. </li><li>Informing violators of policy and procedures restraining trespassers </li><li>Maintains organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements. </li><li>Turn on security system and lights in health center unlock necessary hall doors for staff entry. Secure and lock building at the close of business. </li><li>Implement the instruction for Evacuation as instructed by the Director of Facilities. </li><li>Work according to the schedule decided at the weekly department staff meeting. </li><li>Attend the department and all staff meetings. Comply with company's mission, Infection Control, OSHA, DPH rules and regulation. </li><li>Must maintain appropriate attendance. </li><li>Performs miscellaneous duties as required by management. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of relevant public safety codes and security procedure. </li><li>Attention to their environment and premises as well as attention to small details. </li><li>Sufficient verbal and written communications skills to perform the tasks required. </li><li>Ability to read and follow instructions. </li><li>Ability to deal tactfully with patients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. </li><li>Ability to respect patients including those who have impaired cognition. </li></ul> <p>Schedule Availability ( Rotating Schedule) :</p> <p>Monday-Friday 6:30am-3:00pm</p> <p>Mon, Tues, Thurs 10:45am-9:15pm & Fri. 1:30pm-12:00am</p> <p>Tues-Fri 12:45pm-9:15pm & Saturday 7:30am-5:00pm</p> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Professional Experience/Educational Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>High school graduate or GED </li><li>One to two years experience as security personnel. </li><li>Flexibility to workdays, weekends and evenings as required. </li><li>Flexibility to work at multiple sites. </li><li>Bi-Lingual preferred (Spanish) but not required. </li></ul> <p>Certification/Licensure:</p> <ul> <li>Connecticut driver's license required. </li><li>Active guard card issued by the State of Connecticut </li></ul> <p>Charter Oak Health Center Offers Outstanding Benefits That Include:</p> <ul> <li>Health Insurance: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage </li><li>Generous Paid Time Off (PTO): PTO, Personal, and eight paid holidays </li><li>Retirement Plans: 403 B plan with company vesting </li><li>HRSA and Public Service Loan Forgiveness </li></ul> <p>Salary Description</p> <p>$17.50 - $23.00</p>
