<p>Description</p> <p>University of Hawai'i, Kapi'olani Community College, Health Sciences Department is seeking applications for the Radiologic Technology lecturer position. Subject to availability of funds and actual staffing requirements.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Under general supervision, design, deliver, and assess instruction in Radiologic Technology in terms of student-learning outcomes; develop and/or update course content and materials and teaching and assessment strategies and methods to:</p> </li><li> <p>improve student attainment of learning outcomes;</p> </li><li> <p>address the learning needs of the college's diverse students;</p> </li><li> <p>integrate thinking and writing skills into course content, as appropriate; and</p> </li><li> <p>use technology to support instruction.</p> </li><li> <p>Plan, organize, and independently carry out independent instructional and non-instructional assignments.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other teaching-related duties that include, but are not limited to, preparing course syllabi and maintaining office hours for academic advising and for conferring with students about course work (one office hour per week per three-credit class).</p> </li><li> <p>Regular workload may include evening and weekend classes, continuing-education classes, distance-education classes, and teaching at off-campus sites.</p> </li><li> <p>Non-teaching duties include:</p> </li><li> <p>working collegially to provide service to the department and college,</p> </li><li> <p>engaging in public service related to one's professional status and/or expertise,</p> </li><li> <p>engaging in professional development, and</p> </li><li> <p>engaging in professional or scholarly activities related to one's discipline or teaching.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Baccalaureate Degree in any fieldAND</p> </li><li> <p>Documents eight hours per week of clinical experience in Radiologic Technology for two years; and is qualified to teach Radiologic Technology; and is knowledgeable of course development, instruction, evaluation, and academic advisingAND</p> </li><li> <p>American Registry of Radiologic Technologists current registration in radiography or equivalent plus current Hawai'i State licensure</p> </li></ul> <p>Desirable Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Successful teaching at the post-secondary level, as substantiated by student and peer assessments;</p> </li><li> <p>Evidence of ability to work in a collegial manner with peers, department chairs, and administrators;</p> </li><li> <p>Evidence of experience integrating writing, technology, and thinking skills in the teaching of Radiologic Technology;</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to write clear prose as substantiated by writing samples;</p> </li><li> <p>Successful use of technology to support instruction inside and outside of the traditional classroom;</p> </li><li> <p>Commitment to the mission and values of the community college with its open-door and multicultural populations;</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to initiate, execute, and complete projects, including setting specific objectives and measuring results.</p> </li><li> <p>Evidence of commitment to Kapi'olani Community College's vision of positioning itself as a model indigenous serving institution whose graduates strengthen the social, economic, and sustainable advancement of Hawai'i and the world.</p> </li></ul> <p>INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILLNOTBE CONSIDERED(Read the "To Apply" section carefully)</p> <p>To Apply:</p> <p>Click on the "Apply" button on the top right corner of the screen to complete an application and attach the required documents.
