<p>We are seeking a mid-level Mobile Engineer with 3-5 years of experience developing applications for both iOS and Android. You will contribute to building and enhancing features for our multi-functional platform that includes live video streaming, social networking, chat functionality, and e-commerce capabilities. This role offers the opportunity to work on a high-impact product serving thousands of daily users.</p> <p>Job Duties (Including, but not limited to):</p> <ul> <li>Develop and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using React Native (TypeScript, Expo, and React Navigation/Expo Router), including integrations with native iOS (Swift/Objective-C) and Android (Kotlin/Java) modules when required.. </li><li>Collaborate with the engineering manager to understand project scope, priorities, and deliverables. </li><li>Work with product leadership to translate requirements into technical specifications and mobile solutions. </li><li>Partner with the design team to implement mobile UI/UX using Figma designs. </li><li>Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following mobile development best practices across both platforms. </li><li>Write and maintain unit tests for iOS (XCTest) and Android (JUnit/MockK). </li><li>Maintain existing codebases, fix bugs, and resolve technical issues in a timely manner. </li><li>Identify areas of technical debt and propose solutions for improving app reliability and performance. </li><li>Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and knowledge sharing. </li><li>Communicate clearly with stakeholders across teams, including product, QA, and design. </li><li>Present technical concepts and updates to non-technical stakeholders as needed. </li><li>Work collaboratively with other mobile and backend engineers. </li><li>Participate in Agile ceremonies including standups, sprint planning, grooming, and retrospectives. </li><li>Deliver high-quality features within agreed sprint timelines. </li><li>Understand the broader business context of your work. </li><li>Create and maintain technical documentation for mobile features and processes. </li><li>Stay current with both iOS and Android platform updates, frameworks, and best practices. </li></ul> <p>Requirements and Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Strong proficiency in React Native and TypeScript, with the ability to write and maintain native Swift/Kotlin modules when needed. </li><li>Experience building production-ready UIs with React Native (Expo, React Navigation, Expo Router), including platform-specific customization for iOS when required. </li><li>Experience implementing Android-specific behaviors and integrations within React Native apps, plus familiarity with Jetpack Compose or Android Views for native module work. </li><li>Experience writing automated tests for React Native using Jest, React Native Testing Library, and Detox (E2E). </li><li>Solid understanding of REST API integrations and familiarity with GraphQL using modern data-fetching tools (React Query, SWR, Axios). </li><li>Proficiency with Git version control and collaborative Git workflows (PR reviews, trunk-based development, GitHub/GitLab). </li><li>Experience with mobile release processes using Expo Application Services (EAS), TestFlight, and Google Play Console. </li><li>Understanding of modern mobile architecture patterns for React Native (hooks-based architecture, presentational/container patterns, MVVM-inspired structures, Clean Architecture principles). </li><li>Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. </li><li>Published at least one production React Native app or contributed significantly to a cross-platform codebase deployed to the App Store and Google Play. </li></ul> <p>Nice to Have:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with UI testing (XCTest, Espresso). </li><li>Firebase experience (Auth, Firestore, Crashlytics, Remote Config). </li><li>Experience with real-time communication technologies (WebSockets, SSE). </li><li>Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Bitrise, Xcode Cloud). </li><li>Experience with dependency injection frameworks (Hilt, Dagger, SwiftDI). </li><li>Experience with analytics, feature flags, and A/B testing. </li><li>Experience building apps with live streaming or e-commerce capabilities. </li></ul> <p>Salary: $80,000 - $120,000/year</p> <p>Location: This is a hybrid role but must be able to commute to the office in Draper, Utah.</p>
