In this role, the R&D Engineer II will collaborate with a team of expert professionals to understand customer requirements and advance the state of the art in engineering simulation user experience. The successful candidate will have knowledge of technical/scientific computing concepts and will design, implement, and maintain next-generation desktop-based applications. He/she will also be responsible for software user experience analysis and the validation of industry-leading signal and thermal integrity simulation flows.</p> <p>Key Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Performs moderately complex development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of software modules and sub-systems </li><li>Understands and employs best practices </li><li>Performs moderately complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products. Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions </li><li>Understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues </li><li>Works under the general supervision of a development manager </li></ul> <p>Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience</p> <ul> <li>BS in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or other natural science disciplines with 2 years' experience or MS </li><li>Working experience with technical software development proven by academic, research, or industry projects </li><li>Good understanding and skills in object-oriented programming </li><li>Experience with C++ or Python </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications and Skills</p> <ul> <li>Experience with C++ or Python </li><li>Experience developing desktop or browser-based user interfaces </li><li>Experience in a large-scale commercial software development environment </li><li>Good communication and interpersonal skills </li><li>Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team </li></ul> <p>At Ansys, we know that changing the world takes vision, skill, and each other.
