<p>Description</p> <p>Springfield College invites applications for a part-time adjunct faculty position for the spring 2026 semester, teaching a special topics course (CRIM 388) on Search & RescueThe ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in the classroom by developing and using effective teaching strategies that meet students' diverse needs and engage students in critical thinking and problem-solving.</p> <p>Compensation for adjunct faculty with fewer than 3 years college teaching experience is $2820 for a 3-credit course</p> <p>Compensation for adjunct faculty with 3 or more years college teaching experience is $3513 for a 3-credit course.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>The course meets Mon/Wed 1:30-2:45pm with no more than 24 students enrolled. The schedule can be adjusted based on needs of qualified candidate.Classes start right after Labor Day and run through the middle of December. The course studieshow gender, race, and class affect criminal laws and criminal justice policies and practices. Students consider the position of females and racial minorities from the perspectives of victims, offenders, and criminal justice practitioners. Topics include racial profiling, sentencing disparities, hate crime legislation, zero-tolerance policies, the war on drugs, and intimate partner violence.</p> <p>This position has been designed as forward facing and will meet face-to-face on the Springfield, MA campus.
