<p>Full Time EC Bus Monitor</p> <p>Includes driving duties when necessary.</p> <p>CDL with P and S endorsement is required.</p> <p>NATURE OF WORK:</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. An employee in this role would need to monitor student behavior and attend to the needs of the exceptional students while they are using the school buses. A detailed list of duties and responsiblities will be given by direct supervisor.</p> <p>SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Assist exceptional students in manipulating equipment equipment they must use on the bus and/or entering and exiting the bus. </li><li>Assist in seating students in their assigned locations. </li><li>Monitors student behaviors while on the bus. </li><li>Reports problems and concerns of tudents to the designated authority. </li><li>Intervenes if conflict occurs </li></ul> <p>Clerical/Technical Assistance:</p> <ul> <li>Skill in lifting and placing students comfortably </li><li>Skill in accurately operating and adjusting the special equipment used </li><li>Ability to learn and remember the bus route if needed </li><li>Ability to understand the individual needs of exceptional students. </li></ul> <p>Professionalism:</p> <ul> <li>Treat students with dignity and respect at all times </li><li>Maintain a good attendance record and demonstrate the ability to be punctual </li><li>Communicate all concerns and problems to the teacher and/or principal in a timely manner </li><li>Demonstrate best practices in the delivery of services (e.g. age appropriateness, normalization, self-determination, etc.) </li><li>Attend all scheduled staff development and training sessions </li></ul> <p>DISCLAIMER</p> <p>The preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
