The position will work directly with the Division Director to implement a wide variety of short- and long-term projects and initiatives. The position requires an interest and ability to manage unique and time-sensitive projects with a focus on efficiency, effectiveness, and legal and policy compliance.</p> <p>Job Specific Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Creative and thorough consideration given to all issue facets of a unique project. Confidence in ability to take initiative to research solutions when facing new situations. </li><li>Ability to work with high level government officials, including Executive Team and Board of County Commissioners. </li><li>A positive attitude in receiving direction and ability to follow direction given. A genuine interest in working with a team with a variety of backgrounds and skillsets to successfully complete a project. </li><li>Considerable experience and comfort in basic office systems, including but not limited to, Microsoft office suite, Microsoft teams, adobe acrobat, and the internet. Ability to creatively use systems for maximum efficiency and effectiveness in project management. </li><li>A genuine interest in working on a wide variety of projects and learning new things and giving feedback that will continue to improve processes. </li><li>Knowledge of industry project management methodologies, analysis, development, planning, and documentation standards. </li><li>Ability to implement project management processes and methodologies to ensure assigned projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality </li></ul> <p>standards, and meet customer expectations.</p> <ul> <li>Ability to collect, organize, and evaluate data and make logical decisions. </li><li>Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple complex projects and tasks to meet delivery dates. </li></ul> <p>KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Works to manage and successfully implement special projects as assigned by the Chief Government Relations & Strategic Services Administrator and Division Director, interacting with the Board of County Commissioners, Executive Team, department directors, and other high level staff to accomplish research, planning, and project facilitation. </li><li>Facilitates all phases of the project management process including scheduling and conducting project meetings, communicating assignments and expectations to project team members, and tracking completion of deliverables to ensure the quality and integrity of all projects. </li><li>Participates directly in project developments and ensures that assigned projects are effectively planned and well organized. </li><li>Communicates project information to stakeholders, creates presentations, reviews and edits project deliverables and maintains the project information repository. </li><li>Follows established project management methodologies, utilizes necessary resources and documentation to execute and control cross-functional project implementations. </li><li>Resolves project conflicts, identifies resource requirements and aligns the project team on project scope, schedule, and budget. </li><li>This position will be required to respond to Emergency Management during an emergency activation. </li><li>Other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>Highly Complex: Work is broad in scope, covering one or more complicated areas. A high degree of analytical ability and logical reasoning skills are required to assess sometimes intricate and complex issues. </li><li>High Complex: Independent judgement guided by general direction is required to research and communicate various issues and concerns. Requires high level thinking to analyze issues and trends, and provide effective findings and assessments in support of various organizational objectives. </li><li>Requires regular contact with high level County executives. Involves considerable tact, discretion, and persuasion to gain the cooperation of others and to preserve a successful working relationship. This position may involve handling extremely delegate/sensitive relationships, information, and complex situations. A well-developed sense of timing and ability to provide detailed explanations and interpretations of rules, policies, and regulations is required. </li><li>Coordinates with the Chief Government Relations & Strategic Services Administrator and Division Director and department directors and staff to accomplish assigned objectives. </li><li>Responsible for managing multiple functions while attending to additional duties and responsibilities as required. </li><li>Requires self-sufficiency, sound decision making, and trustworthiness. </li><li>Ability to make strong analytic decisions and effectively prioritize/execute tasks in a high pressure environment. A high degree of analytical ability and inductive thinking is required to solve complex and intricate technology problems. </li><li>Plans and manages functions related to project management in a general government setting. </li></ul> <p>NATURE OF WORK</p> <p>Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.</p> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS</p> <p>The work is performed in normal office environment and involves mostly sitting at a desk and occasionally standing during presentations or special events.</p> <p>PHYSICAL EFFORT</p> <p>Intermittently sitting, standing, bending, or stooping. Occasionally requires light lifting or carrying 25 lbs. or less. Normal office environment.</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Graduation from an accredited four-year degree granting college or university (Public Administration or comparable major preferred). (A Master's Degree in Public or Business Administration is preferred). </li><li>Five years of program/project management experience directly related to the position duties (preferably including developing and implementing policies, objectives, and strategies). </li><li>An equivalent combination of education (not less than a high school diploma/GED), training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted above. </li><li>Project Management certification is preferred. </li></ul> <p>Emergency Management Responsibilities</p> <p>In the event of an emergency or disaster, an employee may be required to respond promptly to duties and responsibilities as assigned by the employee's department, the County's Office of Emergency Management, or County Administration. Such assignments may be for before, during or after the emergency/disaster.</p>
