<p>JOB DESCRIPTION: Head Men's and Women's Track and Field/Cross Country Coach</p> <p>DATE:11/17/2025</p> <p>DEPARTMENT: Division of Athletics</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Director of Athletics</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>This is a full time, 12-month salaried position charged with coaching and managing the cross country and track & field program. As a head coach for the cross country and track & field team, this position accepts responsibility of assisting the Director of Athletics in leadership, vision, and supervision of the program. Nichols College, a member of the NCAA Division III, located in Dudley, MA (Central MA) invites application for a full-time Head Men's & Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Coach.</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Identify, attract, and retain outstanding student-athletes. </li><li>Plan and execute practices and contests. </li><li>Support current student-athlete academic success. </li><li>Manage budget and equipment. </li><li>Scheduling contests and practices. </li><li>Contest coverage. </li><li>Fundraising and alumni outreach. </li><li>Ensure compliance with NCAA and Nichols College. </li><li>Meet recruiting goals established by the VP/Director of Athletics. </li><li>Attend departmental and CNE meetings. </li><li>Attain driving certification with the College. </li><li>Be an active member of the Division of Athletics </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATION REQUIRED:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree with experience in collegiate athletics. </li><li>Genuine understanding and commitment to NCAA Division III intercollegiate athletics philosophy. </li><li>Solid knowledge and technical skills for the sport of cross country/track & field. </li><li>Must have leadership and people skills, plus an ability to work with all constituencies of the campus. </li><li>Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, able to handle a multi-task work environment. </li><li>Computer proficiency. </li><li>Valid driver's license and good driving record. </li><li>Light lifting. </li><li>Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends. </li></ul> <p>BENEFITS:</p> <p>12-month full-time position with benefits</p> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>CPR/AED and First Aid certification </li><li>Coaching experience </li></ul>
